Minnesota Republicans' pro-family tax cut plan

Since the DFL is intent on obstructing each piece of legislation that'd help families, Minnesota's House Republicans are proposing a state-record pro-family tax cut. By contrast, DFL politicians promised Minnesotans a $2,000 Walz check. That year, the DFL spent the entire $18,000,000,000 projected surplus, then raised license tab fees and other taxes by another $10,000,000,000. The DFL didn't help families. Instead, the DFL helped bureaucrats. Let's get into the article.

The article reports "Minnesota House Republicans unveiled a budget proposal that would deliver the largest tax cut in state history, while reprioritizing state spending. The plan, dubbed the 'North Star Comeback,' includes $3.8 billion in tax reductions and is built around three priorities: protecting family budgets, making government work and creating a working-class economy."

The DFL is certain to vote this pro-family tax plan into oblivion because a) DFL politicians are pro-family only if the money first runs through the government and b) they hate tax cuts. If government doesn't get a cut of the money, then the DFL is anti-family.

The DFL is pro-unfunded mandate, where the DFL tells families what they have to do to get a portion of THEIR MONEY back. Don't forget, the government, aka the DFL, gets its cut first. Within minutes, DFL Chair Richard Carlbom will criticize this plan:

House Speaker Lisa Demuth, R-Cold Spring, said the proposal responds to rising costs facing Minnesotans.

"Right now, Minnesotans are feeling squeezed from every direction — groceries, child care, housing, insurance, energy," Demuth said. "When you think about it, it’s the basics and they’re just getting more expensive. Families are actually working harder but they’re falling further behind."

The proposal includes $1 billion in one-time property tax relief, eliminating taxes on tips and overtime, and repealing car tab fees. It also calls for lowering child care costs and directing hundreds of millions of dollars into education through scholarship-granting organizations.

This plan has lots to like about it, starting with "$1 billion in one-time property tax relief" and "repealing car tab fees." Whrn they talk about "repealing car tab fees," I'm betting that they mean repealing the license tab fee HIKE enacted as part of the $10,000,000,000 tax increase in the DFL Trifecta year of 2023. If I had a sceptre and a throne, I'd add one thing to this bill. I'd add a provision of eliminating or, at minimum, reducing unfunded mandates. That's where a significant portion of property tax hikes start. This is the video of the announcement:

Family budgets must come first. That won't happen with the DFL. Their priority is growing government. The DFL model is 'government first.' That's the first step to serfdom. No thnks! Significantly reducing property tax hikes permanently requires significantly reducing unfunded mandates.

Stabilizing property taxes stabilizes family budgets. Stabilized family budgets, in turn, leads quickly and directly to prosperity. It's time to hop off the DFL/DSA socialist train and hop onto the GOP prosperity train.
