Today's DFL are obstructionists

Walter Hudson nailed it in his last legislative update when he said "During the trifecta years, Democrats pushed extreme bills that nobody was asking for and nobody wanted. Then, Republicans broke up their full control of the Capitol and Democrats have morphed into obstructionists by doing all they can to block things that people are asking for and absolutely want." During the Trifecta, the GOP did what they were supposed to do. They started listening again. They asked questions about what the people wanted. Compare that with the DFL telling the activists what the DFL planned on doing.

Then Rep. Hudson wrote "Last week, House Democrats spoke against a new stream of education revenue for our children that would come at zero cost to the state." The DFL said no because this new stream of revenue was dedicated to school choice. There isn't a snowball's prayer in H-E-Double-Toothpicks that Education Minnesota would sanction that.

Then Rep. Hudson re-inforced the DFL obstructionist storyline with another shot of reality when he wrote "This week, they came right back and stood in the way of Minnesota businesses benefitting from a new federal tax provision that doesn’t cost the state a dime. House Republicans moved to declare urgency on a bill (H.F. 3127) that would let businesses in our state take advantage of this federal policy. The House Republican lead on taxes said it would deliver a combined $2.05 billion in relief for 66,000 businesses in Minnesota." Why wouldn't the DFL vote to give 66,000 Minnesota entrepreneurs "$2.05 Billion in relief"? It isn't like these businesses are swamped with profits and extra cash. The DFL apparently doesn't want to run against a winning, popular GOP track record.

Based on Rep. Hudson's opening statement, the DFL is already behind the proverbial 8-ball. When Rep. Hudson reported that "Democrats pushed extreme bills that nobody was asking for and nobody wanted" during the Trifecta, large parts of Minnesota agreed with the GOP. Further, when Rep. Hudson said that the DFL "have morphed into obstructionists by doing all they can to block things that people are asking for and absolutely want," Rep. Hudson accuratel depicted the DFL as the party of spoiled brats if they don't get exactly what they want. If you don't take time to watch Rep. Hudson's video, you'll regret it. So watch this 11-minute-long video:

If something seems too good to be true, it isn't that it can't be true. It's that it wasn't written by a DFL legislator. GOP legislators are in the habit of writing legislation that helps people. DFL legislators are in the habit of writing legislation that gives the DFL's special interest allies an advantage.

The difference is that Republicans write legislation that helps lsrge groups of people. The DFL writes legislation that help the DFL's special interest allies.
