St. Cloud, MN City Council confirms sanctuary city status

In a move that's highly disappointing but not the least bit surprising, the ST. Cloud City Council unofficially declared itself a sanctuary city. KNSI's Jake Judd reported "(KNSI) — The St. Cloud City Council voted 6-1 Monday evening to reaffirm its commitment to being a welcoming community, while a resolution on law enforcement was postponed until March. The resolutions came as Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations have intensified across St. Cloud and Minnesota in recent weeks. A resolution by Council Member Hudda Ibrahim reaffirms the city’s 2017 commitment to welcoming all residents regardless of immigration status, ethnicity, or country of origin."

What a bunch of spineless idiots we have 'leading' our city. City Council President Mike Conway was one of the councilmembers who voted to confirm St. Cloud's sanctuary status. He's also running as a Republican for the state legislature. After last night's vote, he can drop out of that endorsement fight. He was already the underdog. After that vote, his city council seat might be in jeopardy.

MPR reported "The council passed Ibrahim’s resolution, but only after a lengthy debate. Some council members said the city should clarify whether it really wants to be welcoming to all residents." Councilman Mark Johnson was ridiculed for his statement:

"The problem is welcoming all is that would mean we welcome hardened criminals. We welcome murderers, rapists, child molesters,” council member Mark Johnson said. “Obviously, that is not the intent of this document. Because at that point, our residents could no longer feel safe." Some members of the audience, many of whom held signs declaring support for immigrants or anger toward ICE, laughed during Johnson’s remarks.
It's sad that St. Cloud, the only city I've ever lived in, is turning into a dump. We used to have industries in St. Cloud. That's history. The DFL's agenda of high income and property taxes killed that part of our history. Further, those high taxes are the reason why Macy's is closing. That's why J.C. Penney will soon be closing, too.

Proof that Tim Walz doesn't care about fraud or other crime

Anyone that thinks that Tim Walz, Minnesota's DFL governor, doesn't care about preventing crime or fraud hasn't read this article . Alpha News is reporting that "The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) has confirmed that Dylan Adams, the fiscal policy analyst caught on video vandalizing Teslas in Minneapolis, is still employed by the state — meaning Minnesota taxpayers are footing the bill for his salary. In response to Alpha News inquiries, a DHS spokesperson said: "Dylan Adams is a current employee." Apparently, the Walz administration doesn't care that it's employing a vandal in its Department of Human Services. As for whether Adams "has faced consequences for racking up more than $21,000 in damage during work hours , the agency offered little transparency.
