Michele Tafoya announces U.S. Senate bid
In a statement, Ms. Tafoya said "I didn’t come to this decision lightly. But I’m not willing to stand on the sidelines while Minnesotans are let down by leaders who refuse to take responsibility. This campaign is about putting people first, not politics as usual." Her videotaped introduction stands out because a) she brings an outsider's voice and an outsider's perspective and b) her positivity is genuine.
I've yet to meet her but I've followed her sports broadcasting career and, lately, Michele's brief career as a political commentator. The thing that's immediately apparent is that she's confident in her message. Check this out:
Peggy Flanagan isn't the answer. She's been part of the problem for years. Angie Craig is supposedly the moderate. She's voted for the American Rescue Plan bill that spent $1,900,000,000,000 and gave us 9.1% inflation. Further, she voted against both of President Trump's middle class tax cuts. In short, Angie Craig isn't a moderate. She's caused more problems than she's solved. We need a solutions-oriented candidate, not a status quo candidate. Further, it's obvious that Ms. Tafoya is going on the offensive starting immediately
:"I think Minnesota is in a crisis," Tafoya told CBS Minnesota station WCCO in an exclusive interview. "I think we have a crisis in leadership and I think the career politicians that got us here are not going to get us out."It's time to get rid of the DFL's career politicians. They've caused problems, not solved them. It's time for common sense leadership. Michele Tafoya is solutions-oriented because she brings common sense to the table.
