Richard Carlbom's DFL has a leadership problem

Richard Carlbom went from being DFL Gov. Tim Walz's Deputy Chief of Staff to being State DFL Party chair in a blink of an eye. It's apparent that Carlbom is working from the same focus group set of recommendations that require Democrats swear often so they sound tough. It isn't that bright to think he's a poll-tested machine incapable of making original statements.

According to this article, Carlbom went on a couple of profanity-filled diatribes following Vice President Vance's visit. Carlbom is quoted as saying that Tom Emmer is "a weak ass and dumb ass politician." Of VP Vance's trip, Carlbom is quoted as saying "This appearance is a waste of taxpayer dollars, nothing more than political theater from an administration desperate to hide from its own failures." Considering the fact that the DFL's gun-grabber policies have failed and the DFL has let hundreds of millions of dollars walk out the door in Medicaid fraud, it's fair to ask if his mini-diatribes are meant to be a distraction of Gov. Walz's failures. This is one of Carlbom's tamer tweets:

In 2023, the DFL passdded legislation creating red flag laws. Robin Westman was a trouble person. He set off red flag after red flag. Nothing was done. The DFL keeps telling us that more laws restricting law-abiding citizens will fix the problem. Criminals don't care about laws. That's why they're criminals! Getting kids the mental health treatment that they need is essential. That's part of the GOP's school safety proposal.

Another important provision in the GOP proposal is that funding for school safety should be for all students, not just those that attend public schools. The DFL rejected that proposal in 2023, when Minnesota had an $18,000,000,000 projected. Mr. Carlbom, why didn't the DFL pass something that fair and that filled with common sense?

Tim Walz doubling down on Gestapo speech

When Tim Walz, Minnesota's DFL governor, delivered the commencement address for the University of Minnesota Law school, he didn't deliver the typical commencement speech. He delivered a highly partisan speech instead. Gov. Walz compared "federal law enforcement agents implementing President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown to a Nazi-era political police force." He called ICE agents Gestapo. Let's compare the 2. The Gestapo's mission was to rid Germany of Jews. To the Gestapo, it didn't matter that these Jews were German citizens and had been decades.
