Hakeem Jeffries' commitment to J6 truth, Part II
In Part I of this series, I wrote how intentionally deceptive Democrats are. I quoted Hakeem Jeffries as telling a reporter that "What I will say very clearly is that we have as Democrats been very clear that we will support local law enforcement, which includes law enforcement on January 6th, the NYPD, the Chicago Police Department, the Metropolitan Police Department and do what's necessary to help them do their jobs."
Notice that Jeffries didn't say Democrats supported all law enforcement. He said that Democrats support local law enforcement. That means, potentially, not supporting ICE, the FBI, U.S. attorneys and other parts of federal law enforcement. That's quite the omission. I suspect it's intentional.
The Hill article continues its slanted coverage by saying this:
Republicans have sought to downplay both the violence on Jan. 6 and President Trump’s role in fomenting it. Jeffries suggested he expects the new select committee to continue those trends, warning that Democrats won’t allow Trump’s allies to rewrite the history of the tragic event.Saying that President Trump fomented the riot is ignoring the fact that President Trump told the crowd from the Ellipse to "peacefully and patriotically" make their way to Capitol Hill and to make their voices heard. That sounds like Trump told them to exercise their First Amendment rights to petition their government for redress of their grievances. Trump didn't tell them to go to Capitol Hill and storm the Capitol. Finally, the new committee is certain to dig into then-Speaker Pelosi's role in rejecting President Trump's offer of 10,000-20,000 National Guard troops deployed before the certification of election results. If President Trump wanted to foment a riot, why would he offer Pelosi 20,000 National Guard troops for the day of the riots?
Jim Jordan had something to say when the fake J6 Committee was hearing testimony:
I say fake J6 Committee because a) only Democrats had subpoena power, b) Eric Swalwell, Jamie Raskin and Adam Schiff were picked to be members of the fake J6 Committee, c) Chairman Bennie Thompson told Republicans that Pelosi couldn't be questioned and d) any Republicans who would've questioned Pelosi and her staff were rejected by Pelosi. This time, Pelosi isn't off-limits. This time, Adam Schiff is in the Senate and won't be on the Committee. The bad news is that Raskin likely will be on the Committee, along with Swalwell. Swalwell and Raskin aren't men of integrity. Still, Speaker Johnson shouldn't boot them off. He should let his members highlight the Democrats' corruption while they sit on the dais.
