Guns strike again in Minneapolis, injuring 13
Here's a suggestion. Why don't legislators, mayors and activists concentrate on preventing illicit "drug activity?" Sorry about that. I forgot that the people of Hennepin County elected Mary Moriarty because, even though she promised to ignore low-level crimes, was still found acceptable. If Hennepin County voters insist on electing idiots like Moriarty, they shouldn't complain when drug crimes and gang violence increases.
The voters' choices matter. If they can't be trusted to make solid decisions on who they elect, why should I trust their representatives and senators when they tell me we need to ban guns? This TV news segment is frightening:
Police Chief O'Hara might get a new boss if State Sen. Omar Fateh gets elected. O'Hara said that their community should know that they won't give up. That's lovely soundbite but it's utterly meaningless. If Fateh gets elected, O'Hara might be unemployed. He might not have a say in what happens. Then there's this:A second mass shooting occurred at or near an encampment just before 10 p.m. at East Lake Street and 28th Avenue South. Initial reports indicated that at least four people were reported to be injured in that shooting, including a female who was shot in the head and was not responsive on the way to the hospital, according to available dispatch audio. However, Chief O’Hara and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey held a late press briefing, during which they said eight people had been shot, and four were in critical condition. Three of the injured parties showed up on their own at area hospitals in the aftermath of the encampment shooting. Nearby residents communicated to Crime Watch Minneapolis that between 40 and 60 shots were heard.Legislators representing Minneapolis have trouble galore with gang crimes, etc. They don't seem to be getting ahead either. For that matter, I don't know if the politicians are interested in fixing Minneapolis's problems.
The problem isn't guns. The problem is the DFL. The DFL don't enforce laws or prosecute criminals. The DFL views criminals as victims, police as symbols of white privilege and victims as oppressors.
