Rebutting Rep. Brad Tabke's argument

DFL Rep. Brad Tabke took the opportunity yesterday to criticize Speaker Lisa Demuth for not helping the DFL pass another meaningless gun control bill to reduce "gun violence." I didn't realize that guns could fire themselves. It was predictable that the DFL a) wouldn't take 24 hours before returning to their gun control message and b) would belittle prayer.

Let's notice that this was a troubled young man. He identified as a woman, which is why he changed his name from Robert to Robin. Then again, he wrote in his manifesto that he "was tired of being trans" and wished he "never brain-washed" himself.

Republican Sen. Nathan Wesenberg nailed it when he said "We must demand a cultural shift: away from appeasing confusion and toward confronting the mental health crisis with honesty, courage, and truth. We must also face the truth about gun control: it failed today, and it fails every day. Red flag laws did nothing to prevent this shooting. The answer is not more gun control laws or legislation by unscrupulous politicians. Our nation must return to God."

That isn't likely to happen because the DFL obstructs anything that doesn't fit with the DFL's failed agenda. What do each of these school ahootings have in common? A: Mentally disturbed individuals are the heart of each case. Why aren't we paying attention to this? Instead, the DFL returns to its tired mantra of do-nothing gun control laws. Mary Katharine Ham's observations:

Thanks, Mary Katherine. As usual, you nailed it. You're one of the few solutions-oriented journalists in the U.S. We need more clear-thinking people, both throughout society and in the media. On the other hand, there's Jacob Frey: To Mayor Frey: In the messy aftermath of a tragedy like this, it's expected that people vent to keep from losing it. Take a chill pill and call me Friday morning. Finally, screw your head on straight.
