Keith Ellison's dangerous euphemisms
Keith Ellison, like most DFL activists, utilize lots of euphemisms that make their ideas sound less toxic. This Alpha News article illustrates the DFL's reliance on euphemisms perfectly. It quotes Ellison as saying "Minnesota sued Donald Trump. Donald Trump and Pam Bondi were threatening to sue me. I sued them first because of this issue of them trying to exclude transgender athletes." Notice how smooth that sounds. Who can be against transgender athletes' civil rights, right?
Except that isn't what President Trump was doing. President Trump opposed biological males competing in girls' sports. What AG Ellison intentionally omitted is how parents of teenage girls worry when biological males 'share' a bathroom or lockerroom with these parents' daughters.
To activists like Ellison, these parents' legitimate concerns are irrelevant. Ellison's ideology is the only thing that matters to Ellison and the DFL.
Ellison's other trick:
The two-term Democrat also issued a formal legal opinion this year in which he stated that the Minnesota Human Rights Act establishes a ban on gender identity discrimination in Minnesota, and schools that comply with Trump’s executive action on protecting girls’ sports would be in violation of state law.Title IX is the federal government's civil rights law. Fifty+ years ago, Title IX was passed to create girls-only sports. Thanks to the U.S. Constitution's Supremacy Clause, federal laws take precedent over state laws. That isn't debatable. That's been settled law since the Constitution's ratification in the 18th Century. This Fox9 news report lays out what's at stake: If this lawsuit is heard by the U.S. Supreme Court, the ruling will be 6-3 in favor of upholding Title IX and striking down Minnesota's law. Keith Ellison knows that'll be the verdict. He's just suing the Trump administration because a) he's blinded by hatred of President Trump and b) he's pushing this ideology to give other misguided activists a reason to contribute to his next campaign.
Keith Ellison isn't inteerested in protecting teenage girls. That isn't who he is. He's mostly a defense attorney at heart.
Ellison's euphemisms are dangerous. He utilizes them to make toxic ideas sound less toxic.
