Tom Homan: Sanctuary cities are our new priority

Democrats picked the term sanctuary cities to portray those cities as quiet, peaceful cities where the quality of life is improving and their peeople live in harmony. That myth is quickly getting shattered. Tom Homan has a message for sanctuary city mayors. Homan's message is that Your cities are our new priority. Homan is essentially telling Karen Bass and Zohran Mamdani that he desn't care if you're upset with a heightened ICE/Border Patrol presence. That's because your cities have gotten increasingly more dangerous.

Over the weekend, 2 illegal aliens shot a Customs and Border Protection agent in New York City. Homan responded Monday morning by saying "Sanctuary cities are now our priority. We're going to flood the zone. You don't want to let us into jail to arrest a bad guy in the safety and security of a jail. You want to release him into the street. So, what we're going to do, we'll have more agents in New York City to look for that bad guy."

If Bass and Mamdani won't work with ICE, ICE will ignore Bass and Mamdani. Homan doesn't need their permission to do his job. If LA and NYC try protecting cartels and drug traffickers, he'll still do his job, which is to deport the illegal aliens entering the U.S. This is Bass's statement on Sunday's This Week:

About 1:15 into this clip, Bass is asked about ICE wearing masks. She replied that LAPD officers do their jobs without wearing masks. That's different because LAPD officers are prohibited from enforcing laws against the worst of the worst drug cartels. At times, it's questioned wheether they enforce LA's laws.

Next, she said that she didn't think ICE had the right to wear masks. They don't work for you, Ms. Bass. You don't have their best interests at heart, which means you don't have a say in the matter. Just like President Trump doesn't have a say in how LAPD officers do their jobs, LA's mayor doesn't have a say in how ICE does their job.

Bass insists that the national guard didn't need to be in LA. Again, that isn't her call.

BASS: I think that the viewpoint has been punitive, has been 'let's make it as miserable so these people don't come.'

That's intentional. Because of the violence from illegal aliens, because the strain on government resources like hospitals, clinics, schools and SNAP benefits has been extensive and expensive, we can't afford the strain illegal aliens put on taxpayer-funded resources.

Because LA and California are badly mismanaged, they requiire the federal government's financial assistance. If LA and California wasn't mismanaged, they wouldn't need this many illegal aliens. They wouldn't have this many criminal migrants. It's time for LA and California to right their ship and start contributing their fair share to U.S. GDP.

BACK TO NYC

If NYC doesn't get rid of their sanctuary city-related problems, Marxist Mamdani will have more difficulties than he can imagine. This isn't an intellectual game. It's real life. It's time for Marxist Mamdani to put h8is big boy britches on and put forth policies that fix things instead of putting forth promises to fix things. How's he going to pay for all these free things when his taxpayers leave?
