Mamdani the Commie shouldn't be trusted; he's got a record to defend

Zohran Mamdani is a smooth-sounding liar who likely won't protect New York from criminal aliens. CBS New York is reporting that "In the aftermath of the tragic shooting that killed Officer Islam and three other people on Park Avenue, Mamdani took great pains to wrap himself in NYPD blue and explain his views on policing and how to keep New Yorkers safe. He put a special focus on an old tweet in which he called for disbanding the Strategic Response Group, the NYPD's special operations unit that responded to the Park Avenue shooting."

There are just 2 things wrong with that report. First, unlike the 2020 tweet in which he first said that he wanted to defund the police, which was quite a while ago, the tweet where he called for disbanding "the Strategic Response Group, the NYPD's special operations unit that responded to the Park Avenue shooting," that tweet only happened in December 2024. That's just 7 months ago as opposed to his 'defund-the-police' tweet being 5+ years ago.

Next, the other thing wrong with that report was the reporter's characterization that the SRG tweet is "old." 7 months old is an attempt to make this sound likke ancient history. Truthfully, it's recent history. It's indisputable that Elise Stefanik is a partisan. That being said, she consistently gets her facts straight. Ms. Stefanik's interview this afternoon with Larry Kudlow was quite enlightening:

The first point that Ms. Stefanik made was that it isn't just the tweets. She then reminded people that Mamdani the Commie is a seated member of the NY Assembly, where he "voted to defund the police at every opportunity." As Mr. Kudlow said, "that's a very big point." Indeed it is. Unfortunately for Mamdani the Commie, there's more:
As an elected official, it's the candidates that he's supported on the city council. It's what he's run on in the Democrat mayoral primary.
This is revealing, too:
CBS News New York's Marcia Kramer asked him if his views have changed. Mamdani's answer was nuanced. He praised the work done by the unit this week and said they should concentrate on those kinds of activities and not policing protests.

"In asking the members of that unit to respond to protests, as opposed to what was the stated reason, is a decision that has led to the violation of a number of New Yorkers' civil rights, and it's a decision that has been the basis of my critique of the use of the group towards that end," Mamdani said.

In other words, leave my Palestinian protesting brethren alone. That's as good a job of hiding his antisemitism as he could hope to achieve. In a city with the largest Jewish population outside of Israel, this won't play. Trusting this guy isn't like trusting Hitler but it's treacherous enough if you're Jewish.
