Joe Scarborough vs. Tulsi Gabbard, ringing the bell edition
In his diatribe, Morning Joe said "Marco Rubio, when he was the head of the Intelligence Committee in the United States Senate, run by Republicans, had every Republican sign on to very, very explicit language saying that Donald Trump's own campaign caused, what was the exact language, a grave counterintelligence threat. And they went on and on talking about how Russia was trying to influence the outcome of the election. I mean, what's crazy about this is, and of course, many people would say, some say, some say it's because what's on the front page of the Wall Street Journal this morning, DOJ told Trump his name is among those in Epstein files." Honestly, most Trump supporters don't care about Epstein. Mostly, we're worried, although not much now that the Trump is happening, about inflation, gas prices and interest rates. Epstein is an inside-the-Beltway story. To real people, not that much.
Unfortunately, Joe wasn't finished:
But all of this stuff is just leading to chaos. And maybe the president thinks, let's throw as much against the wall as we can throw against the wall. But as Karl Rove writes, let's see, it's in the Wall Street Journal opinion, there is a political price to conspiracy theories.Relying on Karl Rove for political advice is foolish. At one point, he knew what he was doing. That was 15 years ago. Apparently, Mr. Rove hasn't noticed that the political landscape has changed. A guy named Trump changed things quite significantly. Further, the declassified IC documents prove that we aren't talking about a consapiracy theory. We're dealing with a full-blown conspiracy. Those documents tell a story. This isn't just 2-3 guys gossipping. It's a series of documents with declassified intel reports.Joe claims that Tulsi forgot about last year's Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity. That's possible but it's also possible that Joe forgot the first rule of evidence. If the prosecutor has incontrivertible evidence, all the smack talk is irrelevant. DNI Gabbard has evidence galore. We'll get into Karl's op-ed in a little bit. But they're actually seeing that price, and they're making these wild, outrageous claims. And I just, I don't think it helps the president.
It's quite possible that Obama walks. It's less likely that Brennan, Clapper and Comey walk out untouched. Just read through Jonathan Turley's article. Turley reached the same conclusions that DNI Gabbards reached. Then tell me how crazy Prof. Turley and DNI Gabbards are.
