Tim Walz's, DFL's intransigence the major sticking point in budget negotiations

It's time to stop mincing words and pulling punches when it comes time to talking about Tim Walz's and the DFL's the DFL's attempts at negotiatinga biennial budget. With a major projected budget deficit hovering over them, the DFL still insists on inflicting another tax hike on Minnesota's taxpayers to pay for 'free' college tuition and 'free' health care for illegal aliens. With a major budget deficit hovering over our heads, it's time to live within our means.

Giving illegal aliens free tuition for illegal aliens isn't living within our means. This weekend, I spoke with a GOP lawmaker about the status of negotiation. This legislator told me that there isn't a single votein the GOP Caucus willing to vote for either line item. I was told that was a hard no.

According to this report, Tim Walz is quoted as saying "There’s no doubt we’re at the 11th hour here. It’s time to get it done. Folks are gonna be frustrated if you compromise on things that they care about. That’s the only way to get it done."

Actually, Mr. Walz, it's time to start listening to Minnesota's taxpayers who are here legally. We're tired of being treated like ATMs. We're tired of having our benefits cut so you can throw our money at illegal aliens. This is our state, not their state.

Some of the areas of disagreement continue to be state health care for undocumented immigrants, unemployment insurance for hourly school workers and the governor’s proposal to end all funding for non-public schools.
Mr. Walz's proposal to end all funding for non-public schools shows an anti-religious bias. Think of this. Mr. Walz wants to eliminate "funding for non-public schools" to pay for health care for illegal aliens. PS- they aren't undocumented immigrants. They crossed into the U.S. illegally. That makes them illegal aliens. Period. This time, Democrats need to move towards the GOP. In 2023, the DFL ignored the GOP, which led to the DFL spending the entire $18,000,000,000 projected surplus. That's why we're facing a projected $6,000,000,000 deficit. UPDATE: This is a major admission:

Senate Majority Leader Erin Murphy today admitted that they'll likely need a special session to finish the budget. If the DFL doesn't change its position on giveaways to illegal aliens, we'll likely have a government shutdown this summer.
