The Republicans' budget emphasis

In one GOP legislative update after GOP legislative update, each has highlighted the DFL's 'free' health care for illegal aliens. Rep. Mary Franson highlighted the program in this legislative update, saying "Last year, they expanded MinnesotaCare to cover this population, promising it would serve 7,700 people at a cost of $196 million. Now, after months of House Republicans demanding transparency, the truth is out. Enrollment has jumped to over 17,000, and the price tag has exploded to more than $550 million. That entire cost is coming straight from Minnesota taxpayers because illegal immigrants do not qualify for federal support."

This was the DFL's highest priority other than establishing Minnesota as a trans-refuge state. The DFL wouldn't be in this position if they hadn't spent the entire projected surplus. If the DFL had been a bit more restrained, Minnesota wouldn't be facing a major deficit. Frankly, Gov. Walz and the DFL are prioritizing the wrong things. Rep. Franson highlights that in this paragraph:

Democrats are prioritizing free benefits for people who are here illegally while telling our seniors, first responders, and families to wait their turn. That’s not just unfair, it’s outrageous. House Republicans are holding the line and fighting to make sure your tax dollars go where they belong: taking care of Minnesotans who built this state and need our support now more than ever.
Why is the DFL prioritizing freeloaders while not taking care of Minnesotans' needs? Is the DFL that allergic to Trump's America First priorities? If the DFL doesn't start prioritizing the right things, their legislative majorities will disappear. On Garage Logic, Mayor Soucheray askedto restore "How can Gov. Walz turn his State of the State of the State Address into a positive?"

It's impossible for someone as untalented as Gov. Walz to sell this expansion of Medicaid for illegal aliens instead of taking of Minnesotans. If Gov. Walz won't take care of Minnesotans that are here legally, then he shouldn't be governor. Period.

The DFL isn't listening to Minnesotans. If that doesns't change ASAP, the DFL will be swept from their legislative majorities. Gov. Walz spent most of his State of the State Address criticizing President Trump. He spent little ttime talking about expanding Medicaid. These major speeches are written months in advance. This ratio isn't accidental. It's intentional.

Finally, it's time for the House GOP to stand their ground on this issue. Let's restore common sense to Minnesota. Since the DFL won't do it, it's up to the GOP to restore common sense:
