Is the DFL the anti-education party?

Ben Bakeberg is one of the rising stars of the GOP. This morning, Rep. Bakeberg sent out a legislative update highlighting some of the DFL's proposed budget cuts for K-12 education. Here's the list of the DFL's proposed cuts:
  • Shifting special education costs back onto local school districts
  • Shifting community education costs onto local schools
  • Eliminating Q-Comp, which provides professional development support for teachers
  • Cutting transportation funding for students
  • Eliminating nonpublic pupil aid, which helps provide mental health services, nursing, and textbooks for kids
Apparently, Gov. Walz and the DFL, at the behest of Education Minnesota, are waging war against private and parochial schools. The DFL isn't even trying to hide it. Foolishness personified

While the Governor plans to grow the Minnesota Department of Education’s size and budget, our local schools are facing more than $240 million in cuts. These cuts are outlined in the Governor’abouts education budget proposal.
Cutting $240,000,000 from the K-12 Education budget is bad enough. What's worse is having the legislature hamstring schools with tons of unfunded mandates. In this article, I wrote how the DFL trifecta increased funding by $2,200,000,000 then all but took it away by telling schools that they had to comply with 65 unfunded mandates:
At the same time, school districts have been treated as if they can't be trusted to manage their own affairs or put students first. They've been micromanaged, second-guessed, and burdened with red tape.
That's insulting. These educators are worthy of a huge spending increase but they aren't worthy of making their own decisions? That isn't logic. That's foolish. Sen. Jason Rarick explains in this video:

Think about the DFL. They're cutting education spending while burdening these educators with 65 unfunded mandates. That isn't being pro-education. The DFL just uses that as a slogan. The DFL doesn't care about the students.
