Tim Walz is a bust

When Kamala Harris picked Tim Walz to be her running mate, the Harris campaign stated that Gov. Walz would help bolster the ticket with rural voters and in the Midwest. Republicans, including me, knew that she'd picked him over Josh Shapiro because she caved to Palestinians in Michigan. There was no way she could pick a Jew as her running mate. That'd mean she'd lose Michigan, which likely meant she'd lose the election.

It turns out that Gov. Walz has been a total bust. Friday night on Almanac, Prof. David Schultz was asked to grade Gov. Walz as a running mate. Prof. Schultz gave him a C grade. That's what's called liberal grade inflation. From someone other than a proud liberal like Prof. Schultz, the best that Gov. Walz could hope for is a D-.

Bearing Arms published this article on the subject. It opens, saying "When Kamala Harris tapped Tim Walz as her running mate, the conventional wisdom on the Left was that the Minnesota governor would help her campaign make inroads with rural voters and middle America. He's a hunter! He wears Carhartt! The rubes will love him!" These city slickers wouldn't know what Midwestern rural voters prioritize. These days, Democrats think that anyone living outside a state's inner ring suburbs is a rural rube.

In this video, Gov. Walz emphatically insisted that buying electrical vehicles "should be your choice":

What the hell is he talking about? This is the same Gov. Walz who signed this bill:
Governor Tim Walz today signed into law legislation establishing a Minnesota carbon-free electricity standard. With Senate File 4 , Minnesota will take steps to lower greenhouse gas emissions, combat the climate crisis, and create new clean energy jobs. The new law ensures Minnesotans will continue to have reliable, affordable, and safe energy resources. Governor Walz signed the bill alongside legislators, labor, and environmental advocates at the St. Paul Regional Labor Center.
I guess Gov. Walz thinks that we should choose for ourselves as long as he can dictate what our choices are. Further, the suddenly open-to-choice Walz wasn't that open to choice when he signed the mockingly nicknamed Blackout Bill. I wrote this post to highlight the fact that Gov. Doug Burgum, (R-ND), threatened to file a lawsuit over the bill:
North Dakota’s Industrial Commission urged Minnesota legislators to clarify that the carbon-free requirement only applies to electricity generated within Minnesota. Since this request was ignored, North Dakota is now planning to sue Minnesota for violating the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

"This isn’t about the environment. This is about state sovereignty," said North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, who chairs the Industrial Commission, according to Inforum.

Does this sound like a threatening tyrant?
In response to the threat of litigation, Walz urged his neighbors to get with the times. "The fact of the matter is, Minnesota is moving into the future and they’re going to have to come sometime," he said.
Actually, if North Dakota wins in federal court, they can thumb their nose at Minnesota into perpetuity. Since this law violates the Interstate Commerce Clause, it's likely that Gov. Walz will lose this lawsuit when it's filed.

From this lowly Minnesota blogger to the nation, I'll just say this: Gov. Walz is a pathological liar. He's lied whenever he's needed to get past his ill-informed decisions. That's something that won't change. That's how he's hardwired.
