Israel attacks Iran, what it means
Further, CNN is reporting "Israel had told the US on Thursday it would be retaliating against Iran in the coming days, a senior US official said. 'We didn't endorse the response,' the official said."
- Israel carried out a limited military strike against Iran and is assessing its effectiveness and the damage it caused, a source familiar with the situation told NBC News.
- Iranian state media reports that air defense systems were engaged in several provinces and that nuclear sites in Isfahan, in central Iran, are safe. Meanwhile, the state media appeared to downplay the impact of a possible Israeli strike in the country.
- Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the United States had "not been involved in any offensive operations" when asked about the Israeli strike on Iran. Separately, a source familiar with the matter told NBC News that Israeli officials notified the U.S. that a response was coming.
- Flights in Iran resumed with no restrictions today. A state run news agency reported earlier that flights were suspended in the cities of Tehran, Isfahan and Shiraz.
- Israel had vowed it would respond to Iran's retaliatory attack Saturday, when Iran fired more than 300 drones and missiles at Israel in its first direct military assault on the country. The strikes did not cause widespread damage or death.
- The Iranian strikes were in retaliation for an Israeli strike April 1 on an Iranian consular building in Syria, which killed two of Tehran’s top generals.
That's gotten Iran's undivided attention. Their nuclear facilities are Iran's crown jewel accomplishment. Now, Israel has shown that they're vulnerable. That's the terrible news for Iran. Next, we'll cover the terrible news for the U.S.
Of the U.S., the anchor said to Lincoln Parker "He told Iran 'Don't, don't, don't but they did, did, did. The U.S. is of no help to anybody right now." Here's Lincoln Parker's reply:
Unfortunately, the United States under Joe Bidend is going backwards. It's making the world less safe. It's making the United States less safe. He has been a foreign policy disaster. Look at the wars we have going on around the world and we're probably going to see another war pretty soon.Parker is right. Why should China wait until Trump is president to invade Taiwan? It's in China's expansionist interests to invade while Biden is the weak U.S. president.
Israel has given Iran lots of things to get worried about. Iran's crown jewel is vulnerable. Israel has given U.S. voters plenty to think about, too. Do we want a weak POTUS or do we want Trump? For all of Biden's tough-sounding talk, the results are paltry.
