Seriously, what has Joe Biden gotten right?

Whether it's things on the world stage or things here at home, it's difficult to highlight anything that Joe Biden has gotten right. Biden's presidential honeymoon ended when 13 soldiers died needlessly at Abbey Gate at the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan. That's how the veil was lifted from the American people's eyes about Biden. After that, things went downhill fast.

After that, gas prices soared, inflation rose to 9.1% and Biden blamed Russian President Putin for what he quickly called "Putin's price hike." By the time Putin invaded Ukraine, CPI inflation already was 7.9%. Fox Business is reporting that this month's CPI came in hotter than expected. FBN is reporting that "a broad measure of the price of everyday goods including gasoline, groceries and rent, rose 0.4% in February from the previous month. It was a higher number than the 0.3% monthly increase recorded in January."

That's before talking about Iran's proxies starting a war with Israel. That's before Iran's proxies attacking U.S. forces in Syria and Iraq.

Biden's slippery language

"My top economic priority is lowering costs and today’s report shows we continue to make progress on that front. Inflation is down two-thirds from its peak and annual core inflation is the lowest since May 2021," Biden said in a statement, adding that wages have risen faster than prices since the pandemic.

"Prices for key household purchases like gas, milk, eggs, and appliances are lower than a year ago. Inflation is down while unemployment has remained below 4% for the longest stretch in more than 50 years," Biden said.

Notice the start and stop times on inflation, then notice what's left out. Biden is right (and deceptive) in stating that inflation "is down two-thirds from its peak." It's just that Biden hasn't mentioned that Biden's American Rescue Plan caused the highest inflation in 40+ years. Biden didn't mention that his war against fossil fuels caused the highest gas prices in U.S. history. People aren't thankful for Biden jacking up national gas prices to $5.00/gallon, then claiming credit for bringing down national gas prices down by 40%.

People will be thankful when home heating bills return to normal. People will be thankful when families have enough money to pay each month's bills without dipping into their retirement accounts.

Slippery Joe Biden likes saying that he "inherited an economy on the brink:"

It sounds so dire, doesn't it? On the brink of what, though? When he took office, Biden inherited an economy a) with inflation at 1.4% and b) that was growing at an annualized rate of 6.5% per year. Within a year, inflation was climbing towards 9.1% and the economy was headed towards 2 straight quarters of negative growth, otherwise known as a recession.

BTW, inflation isn't "3% and trending lower." It's at 3.2% and trending higher. That doesn't sound that much but it is when you've already paid too much in inflation 'taxes.'

Slipperiest politician of my lifetime

Joe Biden is the slipperiest politician of my lifetime. That's saying something considering the fact that I watched Bill Clinton for 8 years. This was an instant Rush classic:
