Karine Jean-Pierre's border security expertise exposed
I've read that bill, which was negotiated behind closed doors. The only thing accurate in that description is that it's a Senate bill and that it's a bipartisan bill. The Border Patrol Council endorsed it with one of the most tepid endorsements in the history of endorsement letters. The Border Patrol Council didn't issue a statement that said the Senate bill fixed the biggest issues facing Border Patrol agents. The statement said that it was an improvement upon the current situation.
If that statement was any more tepid, you'd have to check it for a pulse. According to the transcript, KJP said this:
President Biden will travel to Brownsville, Texas, to meet with U.S. Border Patrol agents, law enforcement, and local leaders. He will discuss the urgent need to pass the Senate bipartisan border security agreement, the toughest and fairest set of reforms to secure the border in decades. As I said earlier, the Senate bill is mostly trash. It has some worthwhile provisions in it. It has lots of loopholes in it that, in my opinion, are a significant step back. It has enough poison pills in it to kill a herd of horses. He will reiterate his calls for congressional Republicans to stop playing politics and to provide the funding needed for additional U.S. Border Patrol agents, more asylum officers, fentanyl detection technology, and more.
KJP constantly insists that the Biden administration inherited a mess. Bill Melugin has the perfect reply:
KJP is alsoan expert at saying that the border is closed: Biden should be able to stop it without Republicans' help since Biden caused the problem without Republicans' help. Then there's this oldie-but-goodie: Let's be clear about somethingDecember 2020 encounters: 73,994

KJP is a mouthpiece. She isn't an expert. How many times has she visited the U.S.-Mexico Border? How many Border Patrol Agents has she asked advice of to secure the border? When's the last time KJP asked Border Patrol or ICE agents if the Biden administration's policies are working? I suspect the answer to these questions is zero.
