Tammy Bruce's misguided trust in Donald Trump is exposed
With all due respect to Ms. Bruce, Trump is part of the problem. He's the CEO who didn't fire Jim Comey as FBI Director for 3 months. He should've fired Comey his first day in office. Then he made things worse by hiring Christopher Wray as Comey's replacement. What's nastiest about that is that Wray came as the recommendation of Sen. Chuck Schumer.
Next, he hired David Weiss on the recommendation of Tom Carper and Chris Coons. It's understatement to say that hasn't turned out to be a wise move. Trump's lack of discipline led him to not pay attention to Weiss's so-called investigation.
Finally, he did nothing to reign in Dr. Fauci, one of the worst federal employees in the history of history. That's who Ms. Bruce thinks is the right person to drain the Swamp? Seriously? The right person to fix the Swamp needs to be tough, disciplined and willing to take the punishment that's coming their way.
Gov. DeSantis has shown that he's willing to take the criticism. He's already taken that withering criticism as governor. He's even taken that type of criticism from Donald Trump, who insists that "How about the fact that he had the third-most deaths of any state… Even Cuomo did better. He was No. 4." What Trump omitted is the per capita rate of COVID deaths. This Heritage Foundation article says "Nationwide, the population-adjusted COVID-19 death rate is 132 deaths per 100,000 residents. 5 states exceed that rate by at least 50 percent." New York came in second at 222.9 per 100,000 residents. By comparison, Florida finished 25th with 123.3 deaths per 100,000 residents. That's quite a different picture.
Here's the interview:
It's insulting to think that Tammy Bruce thinks that the president that made this many major mistakes while mishandling the Swamp is the right pick to drain the Swamp. Donald Trump isn't the savior. He's just a guy with a big personality who isn't famous for discipline or attention to detail.
