Kamala Harris, Minnesota Freedom Fund & the end to cash bail

In June, 2020, then Sen.-Kamala Harris tweeted her support for the Minnesota Freedom Fund, saying "Chip in now to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota." If MFF can convince DFL legislators to eliminate cash bail this session, MFF will cease to exist. That's the promise coming from Elizer Darris, co-executive director of both the MFF and MFF Action. Darris said "that MFF Action aims to help build a stronger 'grassroots coalition' to pass anti-cash bail legislation and defend it from 'political, legal, and disinformation campaigns.'"

That's spin for saying that MFF and MFF Action want to turn Minnesota into a criminal's heaven. Darris said "The launch of MFF Action should signal to our opponents that we are fully and vocally joining the fight for pre-trial fairness and immigration justice in Minnesota. We look forward to MFF Action putting the Minnesota Freedom Fund out of business. But make no mistake: The Minnesota Freedom Fund will only close our doors when the cash bail system and the harms of immigration detentions have been eliminated."

Here's hoping that I'll have a lengthy fight with MFF and MFF Action. Ending cash bail isn't on my bucket list. If Minnesotans want higher crime, they should support MFF and MFF Action. If Minnesotans prefer their streets and neighborhoods safe, they should fight MFF and MFF Action. It's that simple. Republicans are the anti-crime, pro-safe neighborhoods party. The DFL is the soft-on-crime party. This is proof that the DFL is the soft-on-crime political party:

Why would any legislator vote for legislation that would eliminate the cash bail system, especially knowing that it will lead to a significant spike in violent crime? There's little chance that Republican legislators will vote for legislation that ends cash bail. This short video captures MFF from an activist's POV:

It's certain that Twin Cities DFL legislators, aka Metrocrats, will vote to end cash bail. Rural DFL legislators and the folks that represent the suburbs represent the swing voters. Minnesota will continue losing voters (and wealth) if the DFL continues with its soft-on-crime policies. Look what's happened in Chicago. Everyone knows about the Magnificent Mile in Chicago, IL. Almost one-third of the shops in Chicago's Magnificent Mile are boarded shut. The Citadel left Chicago and moved to Miami, FL:
The decision to relocate the hedge fund and Citadel Securities, the electronic trading firm, was motivated by Florida's business-friendly climate and tax advantages, and concerns about rising crime rates in Chicago, people familiar with his thinking said.
If the DFL wants Minneapolis to turn into Chicago, all it has to do is pass legislation that ends cash bail. Crime, which is already sky-high, will skyrocket. Based on what this DFL legislature has done, I wouldn't be surprised if this passes. That would be a sad thing.

Proof that Tim Walz doesn't care about fraud or other crime

Anyone that thinks that Tim Walz, Minnesota's DFL governor, doesn't care about preventing crime or fraud hasn't read this article . Alpha News is reporting that "The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) has confirmed that Dylan Adams, the fiscal policy analyst caught on video vandalizing Teslas in Minneapolis, is still employed by the state — meaning Minnesota taxpayers are footing the bill for his salary. In response to Alpha News inquiries, a DHS spokesperson said: "Dylan Adams is a current employee." Apparently, the Walz administration doesn't care that it's employing a vandal in its Department of Human Services. As for whether Adams "has faced consequences for racking up more than $21,000 in damage during work hours , the agency offered little transparency.
