Jamie Long's long, disastrous day continues

Jamie Long isn't a talented legislator. The fact is that his biggest value is his ability to weave word salads. I initially wrote this article to talk about the Minnesota Senate passing a gun control bill. The article wound up highlighting Rep. Jamie Long's word-salad-weaving abilities. In this article, which you might consider a 'Part II' of the series, I'll highlight Rep. Long's word-salad-weaving abilities. HINT: He's exceptionally talented at that. In Part I, Rep. Long gave usa word salad saying "Mr. Chairman, we have 1 month left of session and, instead of focusing on the things Minnesotans are asking us to do, like deal with cost-of-living, like deal with gun violence prevention, the Republicans are proposing that we use that remaining time in partisan attacks."

In Part II, Long blustered "You all want to use the next month that we have available in committee, even on the floor, basically platforming Republican campaign speeches when we could use that time to legislate. I get that you all have written off session ... The public is actually asking us to do things that would help them. They're facing real cost-of-living challenges." What Rep. Long has intentionally omitted is the record spending increase of $18,000,000,000 by the DFL Trifecta in 2023. Rep. Long intentionally omitted the $10,000,000,000 hike in taxes and license tab fees. Rep. Long definitely won't mention the unfunded mandates that he's voted for that will send property taxes skyrocketing. A friend of mine told me that his property taxes went up $10,000 last year to this year.

The DFL has complained about the Fraud & Oversight Committee not fixing the fraud problem. What Rep. Long intentional omits is that the House DFL has stopped each bill in its tracks on a 7-7 vote once it gets to other committees of jurisdiction. It's been the DFL's plan from the start to thwart the GOP's plan to fix the Walz-DFL Medicaid fraud scheme.

Rep. Long then insisted that Minnesotans wanted the legislature to fix the damage done by Operation Metro Surge and to fix "gun violence." How dod you fix something fictional?

It's time for Jamie Long to stop living in Alice in Wonderland's neighborhood.
