The DFL's Transgender Trap

If you think that the DFL has a fatal flaw, you'd be right in my opinion. The truth is that the DFL has multiple fatal flaws. Chief amongst them is their unwavering belief in gun violence being the chief culprit for society's ills. It's the perfect solution to what's actually afflicting society, which is the opposite of what the DFL believes. After Robin Westman killed 2 children, ages 8 and 10, people started looking for a motive for Westman's shooting spree.

While the DFL pretends not to know what the motive is, most Minnesotans know. The truth is that this was a troubled young man who hated Christians, President Trump and the Jewish people, though not in that order.

Scott Johnson's op-ed for Alpha News highlights the flawed legal system in Minnesota. Scott wrote "Let’s look at the law, Minn. Stat. § 214.078, with the Westman case in mind. As it applies to minors, the Minnesota law bans therapy 'that seeks to change an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity, including efforts to change behaviors or gender expressions …' If Westman had been troubled by the feelings that led to his identification as a girl and wanted to confirm his masculinity, or reconcile himself to his physiological sex, the law would have prevented him from receiving help from mental health professionals to do so. So-called gender-affirming care is the only legal treatment."

I don't think this provision accidentally made its way into the statute. I'm certain it was intentional. Further, the DFL can't stand the thought of people questioning the scientific validity of transgender ideology. The DFL's problem is that their belief is unraveling daily. This sheds light on who Robin Westman was:

One need only change the facts slightly to amplify the point. Suppose Westman had changed his sexual identification at 13 instead of 17 and regretted it at 17 instead of 23. The law would have directly prohibited him from receiving professional help to mitigate or resolve his feelings. Insofar as teenagers are more likely to struggle with issues of “identification” than adults, the ban on their receiving anything but "affirmation" that mismatches their physiology is perverse.

Minnesota, by the way, is not alone in enacting a ban on "conversion therapy." Some version of a ban has been adopted by 23 states. It is something of an epidemic.

As I say, the Minnesota law and its counterparts in other states are misguided. Dr. Jill Simons, executive director of the American College of Pediatricians, has spelled out errors underlying the Minnesota law in an interview with Alpha News. "None of this social affirmation, chemicals, hormones, puberty blockers, surgeries, none of this so-called affirmation care reduces any of the mental health problems in these children. They don’t reduce suicides," Dr. Simons explained.

In other words, the bill that papssed with unanimous support traps kids during their transition. Then it takes the choice out of doctors' hands if children want to detransition. That doesn't sound like doctor treatment. It sounds like a grift on behalf of the DFL.

I'd love it if North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa passed laws that established their states as 'Sanctuary from Trans-Refuge States.' That's perfect medicine to Minnesota's DFL politicians' hubris. That statute isn't intended to provide compassion to children in trouble. That statute apparently is part of Minnesota law to prevent people from detransitioning.
