The DFL's latest fundraising appeal?

The greater the turmoil, the greater the DFL's unity of purpose. Nothing brings the DFL together faster than school shootings. I know that sounds sick but the DFL's reflex to call for more gun laws is sickening. Immediately after a school shooting, the DFL insists that inanimate objects that can't load or shoot themselves actually shot people. It's utterly amazing how that's possible. But I digress.

The DFL is planning on using the (supposedly) upcoming special session as a fundraiser. Further, I'm hearing that some DFL politicians are planning on offering some amendments to trip up GOP legislators. To that, I say 'Be careful what you strategize for; 2 can play that game.'

GOP Rep. Drew Roach "will be introducing legislation to repeal Minnesota Statute 214.078, which prohibits licensed mental health professionals from providing talk therapy to individuals experiencing questions or struggles related to gender identity." Let's be clear about something. If the DFL doesn't agree to repealing this disgusting law, the House GOP should adjourn sine die after the forum is established.

This is the statement:

Let's compare the 2 political parties. The DFL plans to fundraise off of a mass shooting death. That's pretty sick. The MNGOP plans on using the special session to fix a statute that prohibits mental health professionals from dispensing mental health treatments that aren't approved by the DFL. Let's remember that the DFL was the party of following the science just 5 years ago.
Representative Roach condemned the law as a direct violation of free speech, patient choice, and professional judgment.

"Every Minnesotan deserves the right to seek counseling that respects their values, beliefs, and goals," said Rep. Roach. "This inhumane law silences therapists, denies patients real options, and imposes one political ideology on deeply personal medical decisions. That is not compassion—it is government overreach."

I'm not cxertain but I'm betting that there aren't any pediatric mental health experts in the Minnesota House or Senate. If that's the case, and if that law was passed with as little professional input as most controversial bills got, then I'm predisposed to think that Minnesota Statute 214.078 was rushed through with little input before being rushed to Gov. Walz's desk for signature.

Corrin Hoggard's report:

If the DFL isn't willing to negotiate in good faith, then the Twin Cities media should call the DFL out immediately. If the Twin Cities media won't call the DFL out, then Republicans should call out both the DFL and the Twin Cities media. Pardon the repetition.
