Mark Penn: Donald Trump gains traction on crime issue
It extends beyond that, though. Penn also said "Fifty-four percent approve of the president’s approach, using the National Guard in D.C. That's interesting. Any time I apply the word 'Trump,' it’s very hard to get above 50%. If I take his name off the policies, I get 60, 70, 75, even 80% support—for example, locking up criminals who are here illegally. But when you put his name, the country is so polarized that Democrats won’t concede a single inch."
That isn't surprising. J.B. Pritzker, Illinois's Democrat governor, is one of the foolish Democrats who "won't give an inch." In this news segment, Gov. Pritzker was a font of misinformation and Democrat propaganda:
If President Trump orders ICE to raid Chicago and apprehend criminal aliens, he can send in National Guard troops to protect against anti-deportation activists if they attempt to prevent these ICE arrests. Gov. Pritzker can stomp his feet and hold his breath until he's blue in the face. Only activist judges would rule against President Trump. The minute it gets to the appellate level, though, the activist judge's ruling would get vaporized. That's because rounding up illegal immigrants is federal jurisdiction. President Trump is the CEO of the federal government's executive branch. A president's authority is at its maximum when he's performing his presidential responsibilities. If these illegal aliens are criminal aliens, too, they can be arrested by ICE, too.
Perhaps Gov. Pritzker thinks he's surpassing other presidential wannabes or, at minimum, he's holding his own against other presumed presidential candidates. Either way, it isn't a good look. First, President Trump isn't on the midterm ballot. Most importantly, President Trump won't be on the ballot in 2028.
Gov. Pritzker, like Gov. Newsom, won't face Trump in a presidential election. They'll face, if they get that far, VP J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Rubio or Gov. Ron DeSantis. BTW, I don't think either of those clowns will get the Democrat presidential nomination. If that's the best they can do, they'll get trounced in 2028.
"The Democratic Party is at its lowest ratings," he said. "They’ve come up a bit from their super-lows, but they used to be near 50%. Now they’re at 41%," Penn added. "Republicans are higher, but people are still holding onto partisan loyalties."If both parties have a 'mid-term convention', Democrats will get hurt in that competition. They don't have a message and they don't have a messenger. Democrats are like zombies. They're 'almost lifelike.' President Trump is capable of acting like a normal human being. Gov. Pritzker isn't capable of that.
