Joe Biden returns from vacation, starts work on Hurricane Helene relief

Now that it's midweek, Joe Biden is back from his weekly suntanning vacation in Delaware. He's just in time to help get the Hurricane Helene relief effort started. Thankfully, our next president, Donald Trump, raised $1.7 million for hurricane relief over the weekend, then showed up in Valdosta, GA, complete with badly needed supplies. During his visit, Trump announced that Elon Musk would help with getting communications restarted by sending Starlink units into the storm-ravaged parts of the southeast.

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris took time out of her campaign fundraising schedule to visit Atlanta while providing Atlanta with an update on federal disaster relief operations.

To prove he's still alive and still semi-relevant, Joe Biden pledged 1,000 active duty troops, will be sent to North Carolina to support disaster relief efforts in the wake of the deadly Hurricane Helene.

By then, Samaritans' Purse and other charities will be working their magic restoring the region.

It shouldn't take a week for the president and VP to get to the region. Further, the VP shouldn't tell people they can apply online for assistance for their various needs. While she sadi that people who had electricity could apply online, VP Harris mentioned in this video that 60+ percent of the city is without power:

Samaritan's Purse and the Red Cross are typically the first people on the ground. Still, it's inexcusable for the administration to take a week to get to the storm-ravaged region. Further, it's terriible that the president is pictured getting a suntan on both days of the weekend while victims are dealing with death and destruction. Add to that the fact that VP Harris was raising money for her campign in California.

The optics are that this administration isn't that interested in doing the work that adminmistrations typicially do. People in the Southeast want to know that you care. In that respect, the Biden administration failed like Gov. Tim Walz failed in Tuesday's debate. It's time to put a real administration in power. This administration has failed.
