Is New York State changing? Perhaps a little

In 2020, Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump by 23 points in New York State. In 2016, Hillary Clinton defeated Trump by the same margin in New York State. According to Gerry Baker's latest column, that might change this election.

In his column, Baker wrote "But in 2022, with dissatisfaction at Democratic misrule, rising crime and illegal immigration, the Trumpian congressman Lee Zeldin came within 7 points of defeating Gov. Kathy Hochul. The same Siena poll shows Mr. Biden only 10 points up over Mr. Trump this month; that would be the smallest margin of victory for a Democrat since 1988."

Democrats are famous for 'coming home' a month before the election. That can't be discounted this time. That being said, what would these Democrats return to? A Democrat Party made up of voters sympathetic to Palestinians, socialism and Central Americans? Would New Yorkers really return to that new and not-so-improved Democrat Party? The answer might be found in Bob Hoge's article. Hoge's article is titled Trump visits FDNY station after court, buys them pizza. Their response: 'Save us, please.' It'll take more than this to flip NY State but it's a positive step in the right campaign direction:

Let's remember the great campaign that Lee Zeldin ran in 2022. He was energetic, unapologetic and relatable to the people. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if there's a rematch in 2026. The transformation of NY State won't happen overnight but it's a worthwhile project. If Republicans want a governing mandate, the GOP must be prepared to govern all the people. That doesn't mean abanndoning our principles. It simply means teaching people the appeal of our principles.

The GOP has long been nicknamed 'The Stupid Party.' It's time to change that nickname as 'The Articulate Party.' Further, there's much that I agree with the Freedom Caucus about. What I disagree with them about is their attempt to get major transformative change signed into law with a tiny majority in the House while Democrats have the White House and the majority in the Senate. Get as much as you can, then live to fight another day.

Hopefully, that's after we get rid of Matt Gaetz amd Marjorie Taylor-Greene and win a much bigger majority in the House. Hopefully, that's after we fire Sen. Schumer as Senate Majority Leader and Biden is forced into retirement. I'd like Sen. Schumer so much more with the title Minority Leader.
