A tale of a two-faced Trump

Yesterday, I wrote this post about Gov. DeSantis's interview with Mark Levin of Life, Liberty & Levin fame. I included this CBS article in my post. The CBS article includes the report that Donald Trump was so excited to endorse then-Rep. DeSantis that he didn't even wait until DeSantis announced his candidacy to endorse Gov. DeSantis.

In the tweet, Trump wrote "Congressman Ron DeSantis is a brilliant young leader, Yale and then Harvard Law, who would make a GREAT Governor of Florida. He loves our Country and is a true FIGHTER." The tweet is dated 12:40 PM · Dec 22, 2017.

That's significant because this article is titled "Trump claims Ron DeSantis cried in front of him while asking for his endorsement back in 2018." The latter article is dated Feb 2, 2023, 11:34 PM CST. One of the things that Trump insists happened was that "There were tears coming down from his eyes. He said: 'If you endorse me, I'll win.'" Also according to the article, "Donald Trump claims Ron DeSantis cried while asking for his endorsement in 2018."

The lies don't stop there. Trump's lies are glaring:

According to Trump: "He was 1 of 150 people doing TV defending me and he was no Jim Jordan. I mean I had a lot of people that defended me great but he was good and he defended me. And so, all of a sudden, he's running for governor and people didn't view him as a governor because he was a congressman defending me."

Trump's timeline doesn't fit with reality. First, the Trump impeachment hearings didn't start until 2020. Multiple times, Greg Gutfeld has told the story that impeachment got in the way of Democrats noticing COVID. COVID didn't start until March, 2020. OOPS! DeSantis became Governor in Jan., 2019.

Further, as I stated, Trump's endorsement tweet is dated 12:40 PM · Dec 22, 2017:

Apparently, Trump isn't afraid to tell whoppers. This isn't surprising since 3 of Trump's highest-profile employees are Michael Cohen (convicted), Paul Manafort (convicted) and Roger Stone (convicted). Trump pardoned Manafort and Stone. But I digress.

Why would Gov. DeSantis cry while begging Trump for his endorsement when Trump endorsed DeSantis for governor before DeSantis announced his run for governor? Better yet, why would Gov. DeSantis beg Trump for Trump's endorsement when Trump had already endorsed Gov. DeSantis?

Finally, why should we vote for a candidate who's certain to get impeached again if Democrats regain the majority again? Trump is a lame duck president from Day One in that scenario. Don't we deserve a president that's energetic, who gets things done and who isn't a bald-faced liar? Trump is a liar and he's undisciplined. Those spots won't change anytime soon.
