Tim Walz's disappearing act isn't an act

For the second time since Oct. 23, Angry Tim Walz wouldn't debate Scott Jensen. In fact, Walz is perhaps the first sitting governor of Minnesota who didn't participate in a televised statewide debate the entire year. If he won't show up for his job interviews, why should we think that he'll be there when things go splat?

Let's be honest about something. Tim Walz was AWOL for the first 3 days of the George Floyd Riots. Last weekend, the Star Tribune endorsed Walz, citing Walz's "steady leadership" over the past 4 years. As I said in this post, it's impossible to provide leadership when you're AWOL.

Tim Walz didn't accept KSTP's invitation to debate Scott Jensen on Sunday, Oct. 23. It isn't coincidental that this debate would've been telecast statewide. Rather than confidently defend his ideas and his record, Gov. Walz hid from Minnesotans that night. While it was disappointing, it wasn't surprising.

Traditionally, the TPT Almanac gubernatorial debate is held the Friday before Election Day. Tim Walz was up to his old tricks. He was nowhere to be found. The first time he didn't accept KSTP's invitation, this is what it looked like:

Friday night, Walz was up to his old tricks again:

There's Scott Jensen answering all of Cathy Wurzer's and Eric Eskola's questions. There's Tim Walz pulling his latest George Floyd Riots act. (That means he's nowhere to be found.) Tim Walz has a habit of this. Check this out:

Friday night, Tim Walz ripped the mask off -- again. He wasn't there for his job interview. When he didn't show up, Gov. Walz didn't respect Minnesotans. Throughout this campaign, Dr. Scott Jensen has answered Minnesotans' questions. He's had the conversations on key topics. Dr. Jensen isn't afraid of being available.

When people study Tim Walz's disappearing act, it's easy to figure out that this isn't an act. It's just who Gov. Walz is. The Star Tribune might endorse Gov. Walz for his steady leadership but I haven't seen proof of that type of leadership. Gov. Walz has been AWOL -- Absent With Out Leadership.

Gov. Walz hasn't told the truth. The DFL hasn't either. They've peddled the lie that all Republicans want to ban abortions while providing no exceptions. That's an outright lie. That wasn't just said once or twice accidentally. It was the DFL's campaign for months. If I can't trust the DFL to tell the truth, I can't vote for them. This Tuesday, I'll enthusiastically vote for Dr. Scott Jensen and Matt Birk. I'll also vote to end Keith Ellison's dishonest political career.
