Democrats follow no-debate script, Part II
This afternoon, Katie Hobbs, the Democrat candidate for governor in AZ, tweeted that she wouldn't debate Kari Lake, the GOP candidate. This isn't the first time Hobbs has refused to debate her opponent. According to the article, Hobbs "refused to debate her Democratic opponent in the primary as well." That's proof that Hobbs isn't confident in her ability to persuade people when going toe-to-toe with her opponent.
Top-tier candidates don't hesitate to debate. They're confident in their abilities to change people's minds because top-tier candidates think they're on the right side of the issues. If you have the opportunity to change lots of people's minds by debating, why wouldn't you make the most of that opportunity?
Apparently, Katie Hobbs isn't confident: This strategy worked in 2020 for Joe Biden. I'm betting the American people won't get duped again.Hobbs said she would only take the stage on Oct 12 if the debate were converted into separate town hall-style interviews for her and Lake. The Clean Elections Commission rejected that proposal last week. https://t.co/3J5HmWObEl
