Why did the Biden administration deny Donald Trump's Secret Service requests?
That same day, Dr. Jill Biden had a full Secret Service detail for an indoor event. Indoor events aren't without security challenges but they are easier to secure than outdoor events. Why did Dr. Jill have a full detail of experienced Secret Service people while Dr. Jill's husband's chief rival have an understaffed security dail that weren't properly trained?
Let's remember the total context of what was happening. First, let's remember that Joe Biden tried taking Trump out through lawfare. Before that, Team Biden tried stripping President Trump of his right to be on the ballot in Colorado and Maine. Those efforts weren't successful. Third, Biden turned in the worst debate performance in presidential debate history. After that, Team Biden was scrambling.
Fourth, the Biden administration denied RFK Jr. Secret Service protection, knowing that his dad and uncle had both been assassinated. Fifth, the Biden administration immediately provided a Secret Service detail within hours of the Butler assassination attempt.
"This report reveals a disturbing pattern of communication failures and negligence that culminated in a preventable tragedy," Paul, who chairs the Senate Homeland Security Committee, wrote in the report. "What happened was inexcusable and the consequences imposed for the failures so far do not reflect the severity of the situation."The biggest reform that was needed was the termination of Ms. Cheatle and more training for the drone operator. That day in Butler, the drone didn't work. Further, the drone operator had 1 hour of training! By comparison, drone operators for Fox's Flight Team need 20+ hours of training before operating Fox's drones. Had the drone operator been properly trained, the security detail would've had eyes in the sky. It's likely that they would've spotted the would-be assassin and taken him out before the event started. Instead, Corey Comporatore died because the Biden administration let their vendetta get in the way of doing their job. Let's remember that the Secret Service was part of Homeland Security, which was run by Alejandro Mayorkas. The report accuses then-Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle of "falsely" testifying to Congress that "no USSS asset requests were denied for the Butler rally." Cheatle resigned nearly a year ago after testifying before Congress.
In response to the report, Cheatle said in a statement that while she agrees that "mistakes were made and reform is needed," she said "that fateful day was a perfect storm of events."
It looks for all the world like the Biden campaign was willing to do anything to hold onto the White House. When Ms. Cheatle said that "that fateful day was a perfect storm of events" it isn't difficult to picture that she meant that they'd done everything they thought of to take Trump out but that it just didn't work.
Margaret Brennan's interview of Rand Paul isa worthwhile watching, even though she's horribly biased:
I'm thankful that Ms. Cheatle retired. Still, I'm disgusted that the Biden administration was woefully inept throughout then entire campaign. People died as a result of what appears to be a vendetta. Helen Comparatorehas every right to be disgusted with the Biden administration.
