UPenn admits it violated Title IX

The Trump administration scored a major victory Tuesday when it reached agreement with the University of Pennsylvania, aka UPenn, that UPenn "has entered into a Resolution Agreement to comply with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972." According to the Department of Education's statement, "the Department’s Office for Civil Rights’ (OCR’s) investigation that found UPenn violated Title IX by allowing a male to compete in female athletic programs and occupy female-only intimate facilities."

That's a big admission. UPenn admitted that they'd violated Title IX when UPenn let Will Thomas, aka Lia Thomas, compete as a female. I'm not a legal expert but I don't see why the DOJ couldn't use that admission in their lawsuit against the state of Minnesota and the Minnesota State High School League, aka the MSHSL in their lawsuit involving the transgender softball player.

U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon is quoted as saying "Today is a great victory for women and girls not only at the University of Pennsylvania, but all across our nation. The Department commends UPenn for rectifying its past harms against women and girls, and we will continue to fight relentlessly to restore Title IX’s proper application and enforce it to the fullest extent of the law." Later, Secretsry McMahon took a well-desertved victory lap on the Ingraham Angle:

Riley Gaines joined Secretary McMahon on the Ingraham Angle for that well-deserved victory lap. Ms. Gaines is the catalyst in this movement. Without her getting on TV frequently and shining the spotlight on Lea Thomas, aka Will Thomas, this injustice likely would've gotten swept under the proverbial rug. These university presidents and athletic directors aren't profiles in courage. They're profiles in progressive activism. That's who these university 'leaders' are.
