Senate GOP abandons Donald Trump after confirming his Cabinet
NPR is reporting "The Senate passed its budget resolution early on Friday, which acts as a framework to implement President Trump's legislative agenda. It would provide $175 billion for border security and $150 billion in military funding."
The article continues, saying "The Senate's adoption is an early step in the process, which requires detailed work by committees to work out the details of spending, as well as of any offsets to help pay for the additional funds. The budget resolution is at odds with the House's approach, and both chambers ultimately have to be on the same page to get the legislation across the finish line." This is an abandonment of President Trump.
It's time for President Trump to let Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz know what he expects of them. They failed him badly by voting not to extend the Trump tax cuts. If those tax cuts aren't extended ASAP, we'll have a recession by the end of the year.
If we have a recession, that's the end of Trump's presidency, which likely means a Democrat getting elected to the White House in 2028. If that sounds like a desirable outcome, please join the Democrat Party. Otherwise, grow a spine and primary Lindsey Graham. He's the idiot that started this fiasco:
John Thune did a fine job pushing through President Trump's cabinet while keeping Republicans together for the most part. Now it's time for him to herd the cats one more time and extend Trump's tax cuts. Further, it's time for President Trump to lay ddown the law with both the House and Senate. Extending his tax cuts this spring is essential to winning in 2026 and 2028.
