One big, beautiful bill? Or is there a better way?

I'm getting sick of listening to Lindsey Graham preach the gospel of 2 reconciliation bills that would extend the Trump tax cuts, finish building Trump's wall, return the U.S. to energy dominance, build refineries and pipelines and increase the size of ICE, the DEA and the Border Patrol.

While he chairs the Senate Budget Committee, a quite powerful committee, that doesn't make him God on budget matters. President Trump's wishes will ultimately trump Sen. Graham's bill. Ultimately, this fight will come down to either a bill that extends the Trump tax cuts, funds finishing Trump's border wall, cuts spending and funds Tom Homan's deportations or Graham's bill. If Graham's bill is the only option, it'll likely finish the House GOP majority for the rest of the Trump administration.

Yesterday, Kevvin Cramer insisted that the only reason the House bill was moving was because Graham had kick-started things with his 2-step approach:

That's a steaming pile of BS, Sen. Cramer. Jason Smith, the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, has been working on the House tax cut extension since before the Butler assassination attempt. If you're going to pick a fight, Sen. Cramer, get your facts right. Next, let's deal with Sen. Graham's bill.

Sen. Graham's bill goes after what he calls low-hanging fruit. It extends the tax cuts before they expire but after they havve the opportunity to have a positive effect. The goal is to have the tax cuts make a major positive effect as soon as possible.

Extend the tax cuts

Get the important things finished first. That means extending the tax cuts first. That doesn't mean illegal immigration isn't important. It means that Tom Homan is off to a fantastic start. With illegal border crossings down 93%, finishing building Trump's wall isn't as high of a priority as it was 3 months ago. Check this out:

What wasn't said in the video is that the Biden drop came after they started flying illegals into the U.S., thereby cutting out border crossings.

It's time to get things put together and deliver certainty and lower prices to the American people. That's the important thing. EVerything else is a lower priority.
