Donald Trump endorses House GOP reconciliation plan

CBSNews is reporting that President Trump has endorsed the House GOP reconciliiation plan.CBS wrote "President Trump endorsed House Republicans' budget proposal that would enact trillions of dollars in spending reductions and tax cuts in a single bill, saying on Wednesday that he prefers that approach over the Senate's competing two-bill plan." That's a big deal because Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz (ain't that an odd couple) are pushing a competing reconciliation package that would tighten border security but wouldn't extend expiring Trump tax cuts.

The article continues, saying "We need both Chambers to pass the House Budget to 'kickstart' the Reconciliation process, and move all of our priorities to the concept of, 'ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL,'" Mr. Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. "It will, without question, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

The Senate now has its marching orders to fall into line. This fight is over for the time being. The focus now highlights the need to pull 218 votes in the House to pass the reconciliation bill.

CBS is also reporting this:

The president praised House and Senate Republicans, saying they're doing a "SPECTACULAR job of working together as one unified, and unbeatable." But he said the Senate proposal would address just part of his agenda to begin, while the House's proposal would address it in its entirety. Both approaches would rely on a process known as budget reconciliation that allows legislation to pass the Senate with a simple majority.

Senate Republicans, led by Senate Budget Committee Chair Lindsey Graham, have been pursuing a two-bill plan, which leaves the extension of Mr. Trump's 2017 tax cuts for a later date in order to quickly increase funding for border security and defense. But House Republicans have argued that passing two pieces of legislation carries a wider margin for error, given the narrow GOP majority in the lower chamber.

Extending the Trump tax cuts must be the GOP's highest priority for the short-term future. This needs to get signed into law before the 4th of July, if not before. Tom Homan needs to get paid, too, so he can continue his mass deportation program, add ICE officers and finish building Trump's wall.

Check out this report:

At this point, the Senate bill becomes largely irrelevant. Why work hard to pass a bill that doesn't even extend the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act? Contrary to Lindsey Graham's opinion, the tax cuts must get passed within the next 3 months so the middle-class tax cuts don't lapse. We also need to replenish Tom Homan's war chest so he can keep deporting illegal aliens. After that, other priorities take a lowoer priority.
