Tom Homan meets with NYC Mayor Eric Adams

When Trump Border Czar Tom Homan met with NYC Mayor Eric Adams, a little bipartisanship was apparently kindled. That might lead to less confrontation on the mass deportation front. Then again, it doesn't appear as though bipartisanship is on Chicago's Democrat mayor's menu. Brandon Johnson is still insisting that he's vehemently opposed to anything with President-Elect Trump's name attached to it. First, let's examine what happened during Homan's meeting with Mayor Adams.

ABCNews is reporting "New York City Mayor Eric Adams met with incoming border czar Thomas Homan to discuss their plans to remove what he says were violent undocumented immigrants." The fact that Mayor Adams is calling it their plan might signal a thawing in their relationship. They likely don't see eye-to-eye on everything related to immigration but it's a nice first step. As Homan often says, 'why wouldn't a mayor want to get criminal aliens out of his city?' That's a fair point.

Chicago Alderman Raymond Lopez appeared with Homan when Homan announced that Chicago would be "Ground Zero" for mass deportations. In his remarks, Alderman Lopez said "Homan stated they may wind up getting some of the long-term undocumented who are doing right in our city, following the laws, but nonetheless, will have to be taken. That’s something that we desperately want to avoid happening and focus solely on removing those criminals committing those acts once they are here."

It isn't surprising that Public Advocate Williams was outside Gracie Mansion to advocate for more violence:

Meanwhile, Gov. J.B. Pritzker, (D-IL), is acting like Mr. Tough Guy:

The Illinois outcome is predictable. Gov. Pritzker will talk tough prior to meeting with Homan. After Homan tells him again that he'll prosecute Gov. Pritzker if he tries preventing ICE from deporting illegal immigrants, Gov. Pritzker will say publicly that he's gotten assuramces from Homan that he isn't here to pick up asylum-seekers. Then Gov. Pritzker will say that he's still going to keep an eye on ICE to make sure Homan keeps his word. Privately, Gov. Pritzker will rejoice that Homan has gotten rid of those criminals and national security threats.

Why wouldn't he? He just got rid of a ton of humanity that's costing his city hundreds of millions of dollars in education dollars, health care dollars and other public services dolllars.

As for Adams, he's playing it cool. He's getting along with the new face of law-and-order in the city. With any luck, he'll get re-elected while Alvin Bragg gets defeated. He wins re-election while getting rid of his biggest pain in his backside.

People have been saying that there's a new sheriff in town. I wish they'd stop saying that. I'd prefer they said that we're finally getting a sheriff in town. Jan. 20,2025 can't get here fast enough.
