Donald Trump wins re-election
President-Elect Trump is leading each of those states. If Trump wins those states, he'd finish with 312 electoral votes. Further, he's on pace to win the popular vote by almost 5,000,000 votes. It's impossible not to notice that several Senate candidates are now senators-elect thanks to President-Elect Trump's long coattails. Thanks to Trump's coattails, Bernie Moreno defeated Sherrod Brown and Tim Sheehy defeated Jon Tester. Sam Brown, Eric Hovde, David McCormick and Mike Rogers might join then in the Senate thanks to Trump's coattails.
When considering last night's results, it's safe to say that Trump will enter office with a legitimate, broad mandate. First, he decisively won the popular vote. Next, he wo9n with a strong electoral vote count. Third, he helped a minimum of 3 new senators get elected. Finally, they ran on Trump's America First agenda. These senators-elect didn't just win a popularity contest. If they win, they will have won with their own America First agenda.
Trump was magnanimous in victory, saying that he'd fight each day for the American people:
UPDATE: Tim Sheehy defeated Jon Tester in Montana, ending Tester's political career after 3 terms in the Senate. Eric Hovde is on the verge of defeating Tammy Baldwin while Sam Brown is on the verge of defeating Jackie Rosen and David McCormick is on the verge of defeating Bob Casey. Add it all up and it isn't difficult to make the case that last night was a pretty good night for Republicans.
