J.D. Vance outclasses Tim Walz, moderators in VP Debate

Last night wasn't a good night for Minnesota politics. Tim Walz is trying to become Minnesota's first VP since Walter Mondale was Jimmy Carter's vice president in 1977-1981. If last night's debate is the final determining factor, Mondale is safe for at least another 4 years.

From the start, Gov. Walz looked nervous and not in control of the facts or issues. Gov. Walz frequently made glaring mistakes. His biggest mistake came when asked about why he changed his position on gun control. He said he changed his mind when he listened to Sandy Hook parents. That's when he said that I sat in that office with those Sandy Hook parents. I’ve become friends with school shooters. I’ve seen it." That's a pretty bad gaffe. That's so bad this article intentionally omitted that part of the statement altogether. They didn't mention the statement about becoming friends with school shooters.

Perhaps Sen. Vance's best line of the night might've been when he said that "President Trump doesn't just have a plan. He's got a record." Vance's closing statement was fantastic:

The strongest moment during the debate was when Margaret Brennan, co-moderator and Walz's co-debater fact-checked Sen. J.D. Vance about Springfield, OH:

When Brennan fact-checked Sen. Vance, he pushed ahead, saying "The rules were that you weren't going to fact-check but since you're fact=checking me, I should say what's actually going on. So there's an app called the CBP One App where you can go on as an illegal migrant and apply for parole and be granted legal status at the wave of a Kamala Harris open border wand. That isn't a person coming in and applying for a green card ... and waiting 10 years." Brennan then smugly smiled and said "Thank you for describing the legal process" before Norah O'Donnell, Brennan's and Walz's co-debater cut the microphones.

These women couldn't stand the thought of a man actually challenging their authority. Aftert the debate, Brit Hume had this to say on the matter:

CNN's Scott Jennings put it best, saying "As the candidates for vice president took the stage in New York on Tuesday night, the state of North Carolina was under water, Israel was under siege, the American supply chain was under threat of disruption by an East Coast port strike and the American people were under the impression that there was a leadership void in the White House." They're under that impression because there is a leadership void in the White House.
