Harrison Butker endorses Josh Hawley

Last spring, Kansas City Chiefs placekicker Harrison Butker drew the rather of feminists when he talked about the virtues of stay-at-home moms. At the time, it was obvious that he wasn't advocating for women to choose this option exclusively. He was speaking at a Catholic university and he was speaking about his wife only.

Fast forward to this campaign. With this being Kansas City's bye week, Butker chose to endorse Sen. Josh Hawley. In fact, Hawley "is appearing with Harrison Butker, the Kansas City Chief’s kicker, at three stops throughout the state on Thursday, including one in Parkville. Hawley has also sent two fundraising emails touting an endorsement from the Super Bowl winning kicker." Butker didn't send out some milquetoast endorsement email either. Butker didn't send out some milquetoast endorsement email endorsing Sen. Hawley either. Butker didn’t hide his Christian faith or his political and societal beliefs.

Butker wrote “He’s not just a Senator; he’s a devout Christian, a family man, and a fighter for so much we hold dear. Josh Hawley is relentless in defending religious rights, fighting for the Constitution, and standing up for the most vulnerable among us—the unborn."

Harrison Butker took to the campaign trail:

Standing up for his beliefs is the definition of masculinity. Butker is comfortable with who he is. While he isn't trying to offend people with different beliefs, Butker isn't afraid to express his beliefs.
Even before his commencement speech, Butker, a conservative Catholic, had made some of his political views clear. During the Chiefs’ first visit to the White House after winning the Super Bowl, Butker wore a pin and tie that were representative of the anti-abortion movement.
In Chapter 24 of the book of Joshua in the Old Testament it says "Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of [d]the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Harrison Butker is simply choosing to lead his family like the Prophet Joshua led his family. Because Joshua followed the LORD faithfully, the LORD blessed him.

It's great to see Sen. Hawley getting endorsed by a principled man like Harrison Butker.
