Donald Trump, J.D. Vance visit St. Cloud, MN

Donald Trump rallied with J.D. Vance, Trump's VP-to-be, in my hometown of St. Cloud, MN last night. To say it's a big deal is understatement. The crowd inside the Herb Brooks Center was max capacity, as was the overflow crowd outside the Brooks Center. Let's start with stating that this was easily the biggest event in St. Cloud. The event had multiple highlights sprinkled throughout the night. The biggest highlight, personally, was when Trump invited "Shannon Owen on the stage with him. She is the widow of Pope County Deputy Josh Owen, who was killed in the line of duty in April 2023.

What's most amazing about this event is the poise Shannon showed while talking about her late husband and all the men and women who wear the blue. I particularly enjoyed her saying "we need to do what Trump said and overfund the police." Amen to that, Shannon. That won't happen if Kamala Harris is elected. We can't let that happen. It's understandable why Democrats are trying to paint Sen. Vance as a wierdo. If they let the American people come to their own conclusions, they might determine that Sen. Vance is a very talented politician.

This new race is already taking shape. Last night, Trump hit Harris hard on her soft-on-crime, defund-the-police history. When he wasn't doing that, he was tying Harris's record as border czar to what he's calling migrant crime. All night, he focused his fire on these things before talking about building the wall and backing the blue. This is noteworthy:

Nothing says 'defund the police like cutting their budget $150,000,000.

Blistering Barack's butt (bigtime)

This past weekend, Barack Obama tried spreading the blame around for Hamas's murderous rampage of Oct. 7. This blistering op-ed hints that Mr. Obama isn't the effective communicator that he once was. Obama initially insisted that "nobody's hands are clean" from the Oct. 7 Massacre. Liel Leibovitz, the Editor at large of Tablet Magazine wrote this op-ed questioning Obama's intellectual honesty. After Obama said that nobody's hands are clean, Mr. Liebovitz wrote wrote "Nah, man. Not all of us are complicit. It's just you. It's you, because you're the one who gave that stentorian speech about red lines in Syria and then sat by and did nothing as those red lines were crossed and Assad continued to slaughter his own people, allowing the Iranians and the Russians to creep in and fill the vacuum left by your devastating lack of leadership." Why is Joe Biden letting Hamas off the hook?

It isn't disputable whether Joe Biden's administration is letting Hamas off the hook. That issue was settled months ago, when a spineless Joe Biden caved to activists interested in saving Hamas and thwarting the Israelis' attempt to defend themselves. Gerard Baker's op-ed highlights what's at stake for the U.S. if the terrorists are permitted to survive.
