Joe Biden's wimpy response to campus treachery

Joe Biden's response to the on-campus pro-Hamas treachery has been missing until today. Today, Biden finally woke up from his weekly hibernation to proclaim "There's the right to protest, but not the right to cause chaos. Let me be clear, ... violent protest is not protected. Peaceful protest is. It's against the law when violence occurs, destroying property is not a peaceful protest. It's against the law."

Thank you, Captain Obvious. Next, what are you doing about this travesty your administration created with your pacifism and your desire to walk a tightrope so you don't offend the Dearborn Palestinians or Jewish voters. That wasn't the full extent of Biden's comments. He continued, mouthing meaningless words to make it sound like he meant them.

After Peter Doocy got into a heated back-and-forth with KJP about how Biden had been silent, Biden had to say something. He couldn't stay silent. It isn't coincidental that Biden said something the day after he'd been called out.

Biden says the minimum

"We are not an authoritarian nation where we silence people or squash dissent. The American people are heard. In fact, peaceful protest is in the best tradition of how Americans respond to consequential issues. But neither are we a lawless country. We're a civil society and order must prevail."
Sleepy Joe must not be paying attention lately. We've had an explosion of lawlessness and a shortage of law and order, especially on college campuses. When rabbis tell Jewish students to stay because campuses aren't safe, things are terrible. Notice who Biden didn't identify in his speech:

Biden didn't say
BIDEN: It's against the law when violence happens. Destroying property is not a peaceful protest. It's against the law.
Joe, you wouldn't be courageous enough to say who destroyed private property or trafficked in violence, would you? Were these tyrants just nameless, faceless people without identities? Or do you know who they are but you want to stay silent in identifying them because you need their votes?

Why it matters:

Biden is under tremendous political pressure as young Democrats and primary voters across key swing states have signaled opposition to his stance on Israel's war in Gaza.
Why it doesn't matter: Until Biden identifies these lawless snowflakes, this morning's statement is simply a CYA exercise. This isn't done out of conviction. What's missing are the names of the pro-Palestinian snowflakes. What's missing is Biden doing the right thing at the right time for the right reason. This is sickening:
"There is no place for hate speech or violence of any kind, whether it's antisemitism, Islamophobia or discrimination against Arab-Americans or Palestinian-Americans. It's simply wrong," Biden said.
If students are engaging in Islamophobia, it's the best-kept secret in the U.S. Most likely, this is just Biden's attempt to play both sides.
