Donald Trump to Joe Biden: Buckle up
In the aftermath of Trump's conviction, Trump's campaign raised $34.8 million in less than half a day. Further, 485,000 of the donors on WinRed are new to WinRed. It's worth noting that Trump's after-conviction haul is biggger than Joe Biden's fundraising haul from his NYC fundraiser with Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. In fact, Trump's online fundraising haul is 33% bigger than Biden's in-person fundraising haul. Imagine how many additional states Trump can put into play just by visiting those states.
Trump's danger is that he gets long-winded at the rallies. He's been disciplined at the courthouse because he's had to be. That's worked in his favor. This morning's news conference was too long-winded for my liking. If Trump doesn't stay disciplined, he'll squander his advantage that he currently enjoys.
The best thing Trump can do is talk about how he'll fix the Biden economy and fix Bidenflation and Biden's open borders. Here's Trump's news conference:
"It makes me campaign locally, and that's OK," Trump said. "We're doing better now than we've ever done, so I think it's having a reverse effect.New York likely isn't in play this time but I won't say that about New Jersey. New Jersey almost elected a Republican governor in 2021. Had they spent a little more $$, they might've defeated Gov. Phil Murphy."We're going to come in. No. 1, you have to stop crime, and we're going to let the police do their job. They have to be given back their authority. They have to be able to do their job," Trump said. "And we're going to come into New York. We're making a big play for New York, other cities, too. But this city, I love this city."
