State DFL Chair Ken Martin defends Nicole Mitchell
That's a pile of BS. If a mid-level manager at a company was accused of doing the things that Mitchell has admitted to, that manager would, at minimum, be suspended with pay. At most, that manager might get terminated.
Martin's arguments are what I'd expect from him. He's a partisan hack. I wrote this article yesterday to give readers what the Detroit Lakes police reported. In the article, they said "Officers found Mitchell, a first-term senator from Woodbury, in the basement of her stepmother's Detroit Lakes house. Mitchell was dressed in black and admitted to entering her stepmother's house through a sliding basement window, according to the criminal complaint. Police said they found a flashlight covered with a black sock — dimming its brightness — near Mitchell, and a backpack wedged in the open basement window. That backpack contained several items, including a laptop that the criminal complaint suggests belonged to Mitchell's stepmother."
Martin didn't explain why Sen. Mitchell left Woodbury at 1:00 am Monday, then drove 3+ hrs. to Detroit Lakes to retrieve these things. That's because I don't think there's anything of an explanation for her actions. This comes down to the DFL wanting to shove their radical agenda down Minnesotans' throats:
The key part of the report is the part that talks about tie votes. If the DFL didn't insist on passing a radical agenda, they could get a number of bills passed. Apparently, they aren't interested in passing sensible pieces of legislation. If the people of Woodbury voted for Mitchell, that's their problem. If they aren't represented for the rest of this session, that's their problem. They should choose more wisely next time.
