Joe Biden's moment of truth

If ever there was a time when leadership and integrity was required from our president, it's now. It's sad for me to admit that, rather than having a president filled with integrity and who is a consummate leader, we're momentarily stuck with Joe Biden. It isn't coincidental that the U.S. is going through some of our most difficult times other than the Civil War and the assassinations of JFK, RFK and MLK Jr.

Mr. Biden's staff apparently aren't interested in the truth. Instead, they wrote this ill-advised op-ed in Joe Biden's name. The opening paragraph in the op-ed written by Biden's staff says "Iran launched an unprecedented attack against Israel this weekend, with a barrage of missiles and drones. Around the same time, some 1,500 miles north, Russia continued its bombardment of Ukraine, which has intensified dramatically in the last month." When the history books are written, Biden will be compared with Neville Chamberlain. Biden and Chamberlain are the biggest wimps in military history.

When JFK wrote "Profiles in Courage," he wasn't looking ahead at Biden. Biden is frequently worried about escalating winnable wars. Joe Biden wants to fight wars. He isn't interested in winning wars. Check this out:

Both Ukraine and Israel defended themselves against these attacks, holding the line and protecting their citizens. And both did it with critical help from the U.S. Now is not the time to abandon our friends. The House must pass urgent national-security legislation for Ukraine and Israel, as well as desperately needed humanitarian aid for Palestinians in Gaza.

In this third year of Russia’s war, Ukraine continues to defy the odds. Against a much larger military, the Ukrainians regained more than half the territory that Russia occupied after its 2022 invasion. They’ve struck the Russian navy time and again, winning important victories in the Black Sea. And they’ve developed innovative weapons, especially drones, to counter Russian forces. Theirs is a fighting force with the will and the skill to win.

It's almost as if Israel could whip Hamas, then Iran, if the U.S. wasn't holding them back. It's almost as if Ukraine could defeat Russia if Biden unleashed the Ukrainians. In the early days of the Russia-Ukraine war, Russian T-72 tanks rolled in from Belarus. Their destination was Kyiv. Those T-72s didn't make it into Kyiv:
Despite the opportunity to defeat Russia by eliminating these tanks, then letting the Ukrainian military go on the offensive, Joe Biden vetoed that plan. When Hamas invaded Israel, Biden said he'd be Israel's staunchest ally. After Israel started winning, though, Biden started worrying about losing Michigan in the presidential election. He started worrying because pro-Palestinian activists started threatening to withold their votes. This interview only explains half the problem Biden has:

Meanwhile, as we saw this weekend, Israel’s military has the technology and training to defend the country against even an attack of unprecedented scope and ferocity.

But while both countries can capably defend their own sovereignty, they depend on American assistance, including weaponry, to do it. And this is a pivotal moment.

Israel loses if it isn't allowed to defeat Hamas. The problem isn't that Congress isn't willing to support Israel. The problem is that Biden won't let Israel win because he's afraid of losing Michigan's 16 electoral votes if he lets Israel defeat Hamas.

Biden's support for Israel is ironclad -- as long as it doesn't stand in his way of winning Michigan. That isn't the definition of steadfast.
