Donald Trump defends Mike Johnson

Finally, Republicans have found someone who understands negotiating positions. Not surprisingly, his name is Donald Trump. During a talk radio interview with host John Fredericks, Trump defended Mike Johnson, saying "Well, look, we have a majority of one, OK? It’s not like he can go and do whatever he wants to do. I think he’s a very good person. You know, he stood very strongly with me on NATO when I said NATO has to pay up … I think he’s trying very hard."

Trump continued by praising Johnson for securing part of the aid for Ukraine in the form of forgivable loans." Then Trump returned to familiar territory, where "he repeated his calls for Europe to 'pay up.'"

Marjorie Taylor-Greene needed that slap-down because she isn't a team player. Whining that there wasn't anything in the aid package for border security is juvenile. When you have a pro-open borders president of the opposite party and a pro-open borders Democrat as Senate Majority Leader and you have a 1-vote GOP majority in the House, you don't have any negotiating leverage. It's that simple. It's like thinking that the laws of gravity doesn't apply. It's time Republicans figured out that biting off nice-sized gains, then returning for more is infinitely smarter than trying to get everything in 1 bite.

Instead, Trump made a single public stop: a Harlem bodega, the site of a high-profile incident in which a clerk fatally stabbed a customer who was attacking him. The shop was used as a backdrop for the former president’s attempt to draw attention to crime in New York and his claim that the Manhattan district attorney, Alvin Bragg, was pursuing a political case against him rather than go after violent crime. Trump also hosted Polish President Andrzej Duda for dinner at his Trump Tower residence, where Ukraine, among other things, was discussed.
Watch Trump work the room at the bodega:

Compare that with how Biden looks stiff and almost life-like on Earth Day:

Watch how startled Biden looked when reporters started asking him questions. That isn't how a world leader is supposed to conduct himself. That's how a startled little boy reacts when surprised.

If GOP activists work hard, we will elect a unified GOP federal government. Then we will build Trump's wall and finally secure the border.
