The DFL's attack on the First Amendment
The article continues, saying "For decades, Minnesota statute has allowed religious organizations and associations to refrain from hiring individuals who do not match their faith traditions. For example, current state law ensures that private Christian schools cannot be forced to hire teachers who are gay, lesbian, Muslim, etc. However, Democrats in the Minnesota Legislature put a new term in state law during the 2023 session which complicates that: 'gender identity.' When Democrats introduced this term, state law was not adjusted to make sure religious institutions can still decline to hire someone whose “gender identity” is in opposition to their faith."
Rep. Harry Niska, (R-Ramsey), inquired about this:
Rep. Niska assumed this complication was an oversight by Democrats. However, the chair of the Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jamie Becker-Finn, D-Roseville, told Rep. Niska, "I can say as a legislator it was not an oversight."Shortly thereafter, Rep. Niska posted this thread on X:
1/Democrats made it crystal clear that our state’s views trump your religious beliefs, in voting down an amendment I offered in a committee hearing to fix a problem they caused with changes to the Minnesota Human Rights Act they enacted last year.

3/When I first heard about this, I assumed it was an oversight, and the administration and majority would support a fix to restore the status quo as it existed since 1993. But that fix is missing from the department’s bill presented this year, so, at the request of Minnesota’s…

5/Already, at least one faith-based school is facing an employment complaint at the department of human rights because of the removal of the exemption.

Of course, this law violates the First Amendment, specifically the right to practice a person's religious beliefs. A little over 13 minutes into this video, Rep. Niska introduces his A-2 amendment to HF4021: A little over 16 minutes into the video Rep. Becker-Finn replied "As a legislator, I can say it wasn't an oversight. I was aware of that language." In saying that, Rep. Becker-Finn just admitted that it was the DFL's intention to violate people's religious rights by writing anti-religious discrimination into the Minnesota Human Rights Act. That's utterly corrupt. That's disgusting. Religious rights come from Nature's God, not from men. Further, religious rights are human rights.7/This is a red alert regarding the direction our state is heading under full control of Democrats. They have declared open season on religious faith while projecting their beliefs on us all. They are erasing the separation of church & state after assuring us for years their…

This law will be struck down the minute the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals hears it. If that ruling is appealed to the Supremee Court, SCOTUS will uphold the Eighth Circuit's ruling.
Spread this video, which Rep. Walter Hudson put together, as though your life depended on it -- because the DFL is intent on obliterating the Constitution and the Bill of Rights:
The DFL has made this point exceptionally powerfully: they don't respect the Constitution! They likely don't respect the Constitution because a) it limits the government's authorities and b) the Constitution is built on the premise that our rights come from God, not government.I'll have another article that folows up on this article tomorrow. It'll be about where rights come from.
This is also an affront to our Constitutional freedom of association.
