Kathy Hochul's cashless bail crisis is Joe Biden's problem

Anyone that thinks that cashless bail is mostly Kathy Hochul's problem is kidding themselves. It's a crisis for Joe Biden, too. The similarities between Hochul and Biden is eerie. On Thursday, Biden was in New York for a glitzy fundraiser. His handlers made the right decision in not having him attend Officer Diller's wake in Massapequa Park. Meanwhile, Donald Trump was invited to Officer Diller's wake by Diller's family.

Had Biden attended, it's virtually certain that the officers attending the wake would've turned their backs on Biden the same way they turned their backs on Bill DeBlasio 9+ years ago. Democrat spinmeisters can say whatever they want but law enforcement knows who'll throw cops under the bus and who's got their back.

Mike Lawler speaks

"He should not have been bail eligible, period," Republican Congressman Mike Lawler said. Lawler said Hochul should not have attended the wake, even though she's signed multiple revisions to that controversial 2019 bail reform law. "And the changes she has made are a joke. New York state is the only state that does not have a dangerousness standard," Lawler said.
Kathy Hochul's unwelcome visit

Kathy Hochul should be seen for what she is -- a career politician who can't affect meaninful change to New York's bail laws. She's a total failure in the eyes of law enforcement.

Joe Biden isn't any better. He's a career politician, too, who's seen his better days. What's worst is that he isn't willing to take a principled position on law enforcement, then hold that principled position. That's unacceptable. He's never been a leader. He's always been a corrupt politician.

While cashless bail isn't technically Biden's responsibility, it's tied into his image that he's soft on crime, soft on immigration and definitely indifferent towards law enforcement. Trump was invited to Officer Diller's wake. Biden was within 50 miles of the wake but he couldn't be bothered with even calling Diller's widow the night before. KJP offered weak condolences to Officer Diller's widow but she didn't mention Officer Diller's name:

KJP insisted that crime has gone down under Biden. That's a pile of BS. Lots of crimes aren't recorded anymore, which helps make crime statistics look better. Lawrence Jones made a great point on Fox & Friends:

Jones called this "a national problem. This deserves an Oval Office address. That's how you unite the country. It's also an opportune time for a Sister Soldjah moment for Biden. If Biden addressed the nation from the Oval Office on the subject of crime, he could say something like 'Last week, a man with 21 charges, including 9 felonies, was let out of jail. Shortly after getting released from his latest charge, he allegedly murdered NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller. It's time for NYC's revolving door cashless bail policies to stop. It's time for these policies to stop wherever they've been implemented across the U.S.'

That would be powerful. Unfortunately for us, Joe Biden isn't interested in making bold, principled statements that move the nation forward. He's interested in threading the needle between 2 rival identity politics groups, in this case the 'Defund the Police' activists and the law enforcement community. That's why he's likely to lose this election.
