Nikki Haley's 2-person race spin exposed
Let's put the final DMR poll and the raw data from Chip Roy together. Next, let's combine that with the reported and verified fact vote total of approximately 110,000 votes. If this was South Carolina, which only allows Republicans to vote, Haley would be in terrible shape. Getting 14,010 votes out of 103,000 votes cast comes out roughly to 13.6% Next, let's compare that with Gov. DeSantis' vote percentage in Iowa of 21.2% and you see that in Republican-only primaries, Haley would lose to Gov. DeSantis by a wide margin and lose by a wider margin to Trump.
Unfortunately, Republicans appear to be picking Trump over the best candidate in the race. Even if Trump wins, he'll likely hurt the GOP ticket, perhaps even helping Democrats retake their majority in the House. That, in turn, would undoubtedly lead to Trump's third impeachment. There isn't much doubt whether Democrats would try to tie Trump up in investigation-after-investigation. Here's the video of Roy's interview with Cavuto:
This Intelligencer article lays things out pretty succinctly:Nikki Haley came out to her caucus night event in a not-quite full ballroom at the West Des Moines Marriott, having finished slightly behind Ron DeSantis. It was not the night that her allies were hoping for. But she spun it forward.Haley's been peddling that myth since Monday night. Saying that it isn't aging well is understatement. That isn't saying that Gov. DeSantis has a clear path to the nomination. Unfortunately, he doesn't. That being said, Gov. DeSantis will get more GOP votes in the coming states than Haley. She's more of a No Labels kind of candidate than anything else.Haley congratulated Trump on his win, and announced she is heading to New Hampshire tonight. She claimed that her close third-place result had made the campaign a head-to-head race with Trump.
