Dan Goldman put in his place by Angel Mom Josephine Dunn
Goldman opened by essentially telling Dunn that she was a GOP prop and that she wasn't smart enough to know what the definition of "high crimes and misdemeanors" was. What a lovely way to welcome her to the hearing.
Ian Sams, special assistant to Joe Biden, jumped into the fight, too, saying "Beyond the shameless partisanship of attempting to scapegoat a Cabinet secretary who is actively working to find solutions to a problem Congressional Republicans have spent years refusing to actually solve, this stunt by House Republicans is just the latest example of their blatant disregard for the Constitution and our democratic system of government." Sams is almost as devoid of integrity as Rep. Goldman. As for Sams saying that Mayorkas is being scapegoated because he's "working to find a solution to a problem Congressional Republicans have spent years refusing to actually solve", I'll just remind Sams of this instant classic of Mayorkas denying that a problem existed:
Democrats are devoid of people capable of telling the truth or acting withg integrity. Let's return to Goldman's stunt. Rep. Goldman said that Josephine Dunn was "being used as a fact witness in an impeachment." Then Rep. Goldman told Mrs. Dunn that Republicans have refused to spend money on a) increasing the number of Border Patrol agents and b) installing detectors to stop the flow of illegal immigrants. The thing is that increasing border patrol agents by 300 didn't work. The number of illegal crossings jumped from 2,350,000 in FY 2022 to 2,475,000 in FY2023.That means spending money on Border Patrol agents didn't work. That's because the policy was wrong. Mrs. Dunn told Rep. Goldman that we didn't need more agents to make sandwiches and process illegal aliens and giving them permission to move anywhere in the U.S. Check this out:
Goldman was stunned when Mrs. Dunn said "I would like the Border Patrol to do the job they were hired to do. Every Border Patrol officer I have spoken to has told me that their hands are tied by this administration and Mr. Mayorkas." Rep. Goldman got hit with both barrels with that statement because he first said "I would assume, Ms. Dunn, that you would agree, would you not, that it would help to stop the fentanyl tradee and fentanyl trafficking from coming into this country if we had more law enforcement officers at the border and more resources and technology to stop the fentanyl from coming in? Would you agree with that?" Mrs. Dunn replied "I would disagree with that. Border Patrol is now being used to make sandwiches and to screen people and let them into our country."HERO. Mother of a fentanyl victim handles condescending Democrat Dan Goldman like a pro, hope the Republicans took notes

He starts off with fake condolences and proceeds to tell her that she is too stupid to understand what high crimes and misdemeanors are.

Questions for Daniel Goldman
- Mr. Goldman, would you agree or disagree that this administration's policies have resulted in record numbers of illegal aliens into the U.S.?
- Mr. Goldman, why did Democrats reject the policies in the Republicans' H.R.2 bill?
- Mr. Goldman, isn't it safe to say that the Biden administration's border security policies have made conditions worse, not better, along the Tex-Mex Border?
- Mr. Goldman, why have Homeland Security Democrats refused to visit the Tex-Mex Border to conduct a fact-finding investigation?
