Israel vs. Hamas, Hamas doesn't fight fair edition

Embedded within Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu's WSJ op-ed is a truth that hasn't been denied for years, if not decades. In his op-ed, PM Netanyahu wrote "In destroying Hamas, Israel will continue to act in full compliance with international law. This is especially challenging because an integral part of Hamas’s strategy is to use Palestinian civilians as human shields. Hamas places its terrorist infrastructure inside and underneath homes, hospitals, mosques, schools and other civilian sites, deliberately putting the Palestinian population at risk."

The truth is that Hamas isn't a major military threat. They're only effective when carrying out surprise terrorist attacks, then hiding in their tunnels. It isn't like they have a legitimate military. That's why they've relied on the dishonest press to win its wars. Without pictures of dead children or stories of bombed hospitals, the world wouldn't pay any attention to Hamas.

Military defeats aren't Hamas's worst enemy. Defeats can be spun into stories of Israel's non-occupation occupation. Hamas's worst nightmare is worldwide apathy. Without the appalling carnage and dishonest stories, people wouldn't side with Hamas. Netanyahu then adds this to his op-ed:

Israel does its best to minimize civilian casualties by dropping leaflets, sending text messages and using other means to warn Gazans to get out of harm’s way. Hamas by contrast does its utmost to keep Palestinians in harm’s way—often at gunpoint.

Unjustly blaming Israel for these casualties will only encourage Hamas and other terror organizations around the world to use human shields. To render this cruel and cynical strategy ineffective, the international community must place the blame for these casualties squarely on Hamas. It must recognize that Israel is fighting the bigger battle of the civilized world against barbarism.

Why shouldn't Hamas get blamed for these tactics? These tactics are used by terrorists worldwide. The first time I became aware of this technique was when Bill Clinton bombed a chemical factory in the early 1990s. Suddenly, there were pictures of dead people combined with horrific stories. Israel should ignore TV stories like this one:

The report still relies on Hamas-supplied fatalities. Why trust statistics from a group of liars? I refuse to trust them. If Biden wants to get on the right side of this fight, he needs to stop being spineless. I doubt that happens but if that doesn't happen, then Israel should finish doing what PM Netanyahu said in this op-ed.
